Trying to find relatives of Young William Garrette who once lived in Eldorado, OK. His Father (do not know name) was from South Carolina and Mother (do not know name) was from Texas.
Married to my grandmother Ora and divorced having my mother, Glenda Fern Garrette in 1931.
My mother believes he was burried in New York, Texas.

I am a Garrett researching the name as well... here is the overseas connection I have found.

Joseph Marie Guerrettaz who married Marie A. Usannaz in France Sept. 20th in abt. 1835. They came to the U.S. after 1851 from Southwestern France.Two of their children born in France moved to the U.S. in abt. 1868. They are Alexis and Joseph. Alexis went also by Lexis.Alexis last name eventually became Garrette then Garrett. Alexis married Mary Libby Slade of Illinois. I don't have the year. I'm looking for any info that anyone can give me...I'm new to the whole research process and I'm afraid I'm not very good :(

I have 1880 census showning William Garrett, age 68, born abt 1812 in GA, Meriwether Co, Dist 669, wife: Sarah age 46. The census shows both of Wm's parents as born in VA. Wm had 4 sons born in Meriwether Co, GA - Wm, George Russell, Marland and John. He had 2 daughters: __ Ann_, and Margaret. Does anyone know of William's parents and their Garrett line as far back as possible?

I am looking for information on Joseph Garrett B. 1830 and d. 1880. He was married to , the family believes, and Indian girl., The only name we have for her is Cretia Strickland. She had a baby 1 Oct 1880 (Joseph Warren) and she from milk fever when he was 6 weeks old. I am hoping anyone will have information on him. I am at a dead end. Mary died giving birth to her second daughter Mimie, her first daughter my grand mother Rena Goins was raised by her father and step mother Susan Barrineau. Rena married Sam Barrineau.
Same is the son of Tom (Thomas) Barrineau and Mary McKnight also of Greeleyville SC.

I'm looking for my Great Grandfather's (William) Birth Date. I have found his Wife (Elizabeth) 3 Children: Charles James, Albert Edward(My Grandfather born 1870) and Henry. As far as I know, William was born in Norwich, Norfolk, England around 1835. It is possible that he was born in East London (Shoreditch, Dalston, Bethnal Green areas). I have just come back from Norwich to my home in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, having searched the IGI Records in the County Record Office, but found nothing. I did find Elizabeth and the 3 children in the 1881 Census living in Shoreditch, London. Evidently, William abandoned Elizabeth for another woman, but we do not know her name. I would really appreciate any help that anyone could give me.
