Looking for the parents of Ellen GARRIS, born in PA. (May 1830). She was the wife of William JOHNS, born Indiana Co., PA. (Oct. 1825).

I have the death certificate for their son Isaac L. JOHNS and it states Isaac's birthplace as Saltsburg, PA. and his mother's maiden name is GARRIS. This leads me to believe that his mother, Ellen, may be from a GARRIS family in the Conemaugh, Indiana Co. area of Pennsylvania.

The 1850 U.S. census for Conemaugh Twp, Indiana Co., PA. lists William & Ellen JOHNS and children William & Susan E. are living a few doors down from Isaac & Nancy GARRIS.

The 1860 U.S. census for Conemaugh Twp, Indiana Co., PA. lists William & Ellen JOHNS and children William, Susan E., James A., Isaac L. & Nancy C.

In 1870 there are an William & Ellen JOHNS living in Harrison Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. with the following, Elizabeth, James, John, Nancy, Rheuben & Mary.

In 1880 William & Ellen JOHNS are living in Freeport, Armstrong Co., PA. with a son Rheuben E. and a daughter Maggie.

William & Ellen JOHNS were still living in Freeport, PA on the 1900 census.

Can anyone connect this Ellen (GARRIS) JOHNS to a GARRIS family in Indiana Co., PA. ?
