Hi, I'm looking for descendants of Stephen and Anna Garske from Bird Island, Minnesota. They immigrated to America in 1860. Their children were Maria(married Joseph Barbeau),Frank(married Lucie Garske),Auguste(married Adolph Smolka), Anna(married August Prelvitz), Agnes(married Christopher Boehme), Amelia(died young), Rosalia(married J. Hahn),Matilda(married Charles Spilman),and Albert(married Mary Stans).

Does anyone know anything abt Wilhelmine Garske born & married in Berlin Germany to Gustav Affeldt of Arnsfelde, Deutsch Krone Pommern,sometime between 1875-1880.

They had 1 son August F Affeldt b. April 3, 1881 in Berlin.

The family left Germany abt 1884 arrived in Cook County, Ill. stayed a few months leaving most of his children by his 1st wife there & then moved to Maple Creek, Outagamie County where they had another child born Nov 1885 Ida Minnie who later married Walter Zibble of Ill.
Gustav 7 W. Garske also adopted a child-George Nitzke.
Wilhelmine was Gustaves 2nd wife. His 1st was Wilhelmine Schewes who gave him 5 children.

Wilhelmine had a brother Fred who resided in Maple Creek also.

I'm mainly trying to find out WHERE in Berlin Wilhelmine & Gustav married. Hopeing church records will tell more abt his 1st wife who was my G G Grandmother.

My grandfather Otto Franz Garske b.1880 m. Helen Amelia Dreher on Nov. 25, 1903. Otto was born in Stettin, came to US in 1889. Otto's father was Ernest Carl Garske b.1846, married Augustine Pofahl in 1873. Ernest's children: Otto Franz, Ellie Garske Normington, Ida Garske Runge, Bertha Garske Miller, Emma Garske Eberhardt, Annie Garske Short, Clara Garske Rhodes Oldham, Herman, Julius, Mary Garske Morgan. Otto's children: Ethel & Viola (twins), Wilbur E., Helen Garske Baranick McKlem, Ruth Helen Garske Schultheis Sterling, Dorothy Garske Marhevsky, Raymond George, Herbert Ernest, Thelma Esther Garske Mckenna (my mother).

My Great Grandmother was Johanna A. Garske (24 Jun 1841)in Germany. She married a Karl Schebarth (17 Jan 1841). They married in Prussia near Danzig and had the following children; Anna Marie (Married a Pohfal), Julius T, Augusta (married a Pascher), Henry H.,William F., Mary E. ( married a Draheim), and Otto. The immigrated in the 1880's to Akron. I'm looking for extended family of Johanna Garske in the Akron Area. I met some Runge's many years ago. We lived in "Goosetown" at the corner of Allyn & Voris Sts.

Hi. I have an Anna Garske in my line. Unfortunately dates are difficult, but I do know that she married Paul Miede/Miede who I believe was from Stabitz, Germany and is now Zdbice Poland. One of their daughters is Augustina (Gustina) and was born in 1839, so my Anna could have been born somewhere between 1819 or earlier. Does anyone have a clue on this? All their children (the ones I know anyway) came to Minnesota. Thanks for any help in advance.
