Charles A. Garst Died in Wichita
The funeral for Charles A. Garst, 80, Wichita, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at the Dean Funeral Home, Glasco. Rev. Joseph Shillcutt officiated. Burial was in the Glasco cemetery with military services.
Mr. Garst died Wednesday at a nursing home in Wichita.
He was born Nov. 29, 1896, at Glasco, a son of Mary Elizabeth Wright and Frank Garst. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Cloud County, Dighton and Mankato before moving to Wichita two years ago. Mr. Garst was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church, Wichita, a World War I veteran, serving in the army and a member of the Glasco American Legion Post.
Mr. Garst was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma, and a son, Guy; a sister, Bessie Dameron; and three brothers, Mark, Wilbur and Perl.
Surviving are five sons, Charles, Wichita; James and Darrel, Scandia; Paul and Delmar, Mankato; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Hancock, Denver; and Mrs. Sandra Leonard, Kearney, Nebr.; a brother, Lafe Garst of Wisconsin; 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
