Have information on Stanley, Julia, (Juliana) Stella and Walter Garstka who once lived near 79th on Muskegan Avenue and later near 83rd and Colfax in Chicago. Were cousins of the Savola family in Hammond Indiana.

my grandfather was a garstka who came from Januszkorice, near Brzostek, Poland around 1899 and settle in chicoppe, mass with his 2 brothers frank, josef and a sister karoline

we might be from the same family

My great grandmother Katarzina (Katherine) Frodyma Cyran Garstka was Wojciech's third wife. They were married abt 1885. He had two children with her, Sophia b 22 Feb 1886 in Poland and Francis b 10 Mar 1892 in Chicopee, MA. Wojciech and Katarzina came over in 1886 arriving Jun 14 in New York. He is listed as "Doska" on the passenger list but I am certain it is him, because they arrived with my gr grandmother and her kids from a previous marriage to Antoni Cyran ( kids where my grandfather and his brothers and sister). Wojciech was married previously to Mary Victoria Sedziniak and they had two kids Frank and Mary. He was also married previously to Honorata Soltys (died 9 Apr 1877) they had Stanislaw (b 31 Mar 1877) and Natska (b abt 1876). Wojceich died 30 Oct 1895. He is buried in St Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee MA (#12 Lot H 14 A B Grave 12) Along with Katarzina. Katarzina's son Joseph Cyran was my grandfather. I'm sorry but I don't have any information on the names of Wojciech's parents, but I hope this other information is helpful.

my dad was from mass frederick j garstka. i have two uncles that live their now terry and stanly garstka.hope this helps you

My grandfather, Stanislaw Garstka, had no relatives in America. He came from Piestrzec in the south of Poland, and later from Krakow, arrival date unknown. He apparently did not arrive thru Ellis Island, so his tract to Chicago is unknown to me.

Thank you, but no. My grandfather was married to Juliana Dominska who was a sister to Salome Dominska Savola in Hammond.

I have a very small book with my grandfather's signature and something more written in his hand. Some of the words are difficult for me to read, but this is what I think it says:

Wojciech Garstka

I'm seeking information about Wojciech Garstka, who came (with his son, Stanislaus) to the US sometime before 1897. Stanislaus was born March 31, 1877 in Januszkorice, near Brzostek, Poland. Wojciech died in Chicopee, MA. I don't have any other dates, and I don't know anything about Wojciech's parents. Can anyone help?

Garstkas - PA and NJ

We are looking for members of the Garstka family in PA and NJ - who are descended from 3 brothers: Aleksy, Stanley, and Ludwik (Louie). They came over to the US from Poland between 1906 and 1914. (Other sibs: Franzieck, Kristina, Maria - Parents Thomas & Mary/Maria - wives included Bronislawa Styfi, Natalie Lukstad, Pelagia Wisa-Petner) We believe Stanley had 2 daughters who lived in the Philadelphia-Trenton area, and who had children of their own. Louie had quite a few children as well and we would like to hear from his grandchildren. Aleksy had three children - we have their information. This family is related to the Chmielnicki family, and may have actually been called Chmielnicki in Poland. Any help will be appreciated.

My grandmother's maiden name was Apolina Garstka, born in Poland on Feb 1, 1898, I think. She married Leon Kott and had 2 children, Casey and Irene
