FAIRBORN: Sallie Wolfe, 72, passed away on October 10, 2011 at her home after an extended illness.
She was born February 22, 1939 in Newark, Ohio, (Licking County) to the late Lionel and Elizabeth (Dunaway) Gartside.
Sallie was a 1956 graduate of Newark High School and had been primarily a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother.
She moved to Fairborn, Ohio in 1966 with her husband who had accepted a civilian position at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Sallie is survived by her husband of 55 years, John A. Wolfe; three children, Linda (Thomas) Engle of Fairborn, Ohio, James "Jim" Wolfe of Bucks County, PA and John Patrick Wolfe of Orange County, CA; grandchildren, Logan Engle at the University of Tampa, Lacey Engle at the University of Dayton, Lexis, Lindsey, Lyssa, Landon and Lyndon Engle, at Carroll High School; and brothers, Jan (Faye) Gartside of Ramona, CA and Jerry (Carol) Gartside of Newark, OHIO; a sister-in-law, Geraldine "Jerry" Hobbs of Columbus,OH a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Sue Wolfe of Newark, OH; a special family friend Br. Ray "Charley" Ronan of Papua, New Guinea; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister and two brothers, Clinton "Pete" Calloway and James "Jay" Calloway.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th at the Morris Sons Funeral Home, 104 W. Main Street, Fairborn, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Sallie Wolfe will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 17th, at the Mary Help of Christians Church, 954 N. Maple Ave., Fairborn, OH.
