On 2nd September 1889 James and Eliza were married at The Register Office in Cardiff. He was 37 years old listed as a Widower living at 27 Clive Road, Canton, occupation Smith’s Striker, his father James was deceased by then but had been a Postman and she was 31 years old and a spinster living at 200 Severn Road, Canton. 1851 Census ??
A boy James was born 5th January 1851, the son of James and Jemima Garwood (nee Underwood) and at that time his father was listed as a Labourer and the family lived in The Masons Arms Court, Cardiff.
The Free BMD shows that James and Jemima had a child Jane in March 1846 at Thingoe in Suffolk (Ref:Thingoe XIII 485 ).

The Free BMD shows that James and Jemima had a child Joseph in December 1843 at Thingoe in Suffolk (Ref:Thingoe XIII 485 or 488).

The Free BMD shows that James and Jemima (nee Underwood) were married in December 1843 at Thingoe in Suffolk.

1841 Census for England shows a James Garwood presumably the same as:
Father James. aged 46 (b.1815 Brockley, Suffolk) Occupation Rural Messenger
mentioned in the 1861 Wales census.
This is in the Civil Parish: Stoke D Abernon Hundred: Elmbridge (Second Division) County/Island: Surrey Country: England. It is noted that he claims not to have been born in Surrey. The census is the Hamlet of Oxshott.
