I have more information if you are needing more information on the Generology of the Gaspard Family. This family originates from Solovenia;which borders Italy,Austria,and Hungary,Croatia;which is in Southerneast Europe. (Gaspar) One of the wise men that visited Jesus as a baby in Bethlehem,Israel. My Great great grandfather, John Gaspard was from Saar-Louis, Lorraine. My Great great grandmother, Margaret Gaspard nee Gautrat was born near Belfort, Alsace. Rumor has it that she was a Bourbon.

How can I help? I will say I have no information of the Gaspard/Gautrat history before they came to the U.S. in the early 1800s.

since you are from the maritius...what nationality are you? I brought that up as I know nothing about that area and it shows it to be a beautiful place...but are you black or portuguese or some other nationality..that would determine if anyone here can help you..I knew this black doctor in an area I lived in whose last name was gaspard but we knew we were not directly related...and in some places like france the first name is gaspard...and in doing research ..i found that the gaspard name changes to michel...a german people..so all if this depends on your original nationality...let me know thanks vickie

I am a gaspard...my dad is isaac gaspard his dad is paul gaspard...my dad isaac is 83 yrs old and going to be 84 this yr..he was born in 1924,,,he married helen hargrave..my name is vickie lane gaspard and I married a mike cloud....my parents had 5 kids..me vickie, charlene and barbara and then my brother mike gaspard and jeffry gaspard...I vickie had 5 kids and my sister had 5 kids and my sister barbara had 3 kids and then my brothers each had 1 kid...my dad had several siblings...he had 3 living brothers and 2 sisters...there were abt 8-9 kids and several died before I knew them...all of my dads fmly that is living is my dad and one brother and his two sisters..

W. H. GASPARD, dealer in and manufacturer of boots and shoes, No. 3 North Third street, was born in Waukesha, Wis., June 8, 1846. His father, John Gaspard, was one of the first settlers in Wisconsin. He was born in 1810, near Metz, in France, and came to America when about 25 years of age. He went into the furniture business in Waukesha, Jan. 1, 1841, and continued it till Jan. 1, 1881. W. H. Gaspard went to Chicago when about 16 years old, and clerked for H. J. and W. H. Wetherell a few months; then enlisted in the 134th Ill. V. I., Company D, and was in the service about nine months. After he left the army, he was book-keeper for E. G. L. Faxon & Co., of Chicago, one year. When 20 years of age, he returned to Waukesha and worked with his father till he was 21. He was married, Jan. 16, 1867, in Philadelphia, to Miss Lillie C. Eldridge, of that city. He went into partnership with his father till 1869; then was in business one year in Manitowoc; sold out in June, 1870, and traveled for seven years, most of the time dealing in musical instruments. His health failing, he gave up business for about a year. In March, 1879, he commenced clerking in the boot and shoe store of W. T. Summerfield, and the following August went into business for himself and continues it up to the present time.

Napoleon Gaspard b:9/25/1835, had a daughter named Elodie Gaspard, b: 1/8/1858, she had a son named Albert Euchrist Gaspard, b: 1/23/1879. I'm trying to find Albert's father, we beleive his father was a Figuron, or a name simular to this, I'm not sure of the spelling. I beleive she had a son out of wedlock and name her son after her own name, maybe to protect the man.

Would appreciate any information on the Gaspard family, I have a lot of Gaspards in my family.

Don't really know you but I'm a Gaspard also, I resided in Atlanta Ga for a period of time before joining the Military 16 years ago. I weill retire to Atlanta in 4 years. My father's name (Deceased) was Xavier L. Gaspard from Delcambre Louisiana. I'm trying to trace my family tree and can't get very far past my Grandfather's name Justillien Gaspard born in the 1800's and died in the 1960-65 time frame. Where are you originally from ? Gaspard family from Belgium??

On my husband's family tree there are a Jean Gaspard II Darimont (b: 1814 in Jalhay, Belgium) and a Jean Gaspard III Darimont (b:1849 in Jalhay, Belgium).

Since Darimont is a place name in Belgium, I'm wondering if the name was following the French traditions and was actually Jean Gaspard of/de Darimont. Jean Gaspard II was married to a Catherine Colson and Jean Gaspard III married Marie Esther Willain.

Father of Jean Gaspard II was possibly Athanse.

I was born Candis Rene Gaspard. My fathers name is Curtis Joseph Gaspard (CJ) and my mother is Janet Leanelle Headrick. My father lives in Alexandria. His sister's name is Margie Ann Gaspard, she lives in Baton Rouge. My Grandmother's name was Margie Gaspard also. She has passed away. My Grandfather Gaspard passed away before I was born. My parents and grandparents are all from Kaplan and Abbeville, Louisiana. I don't know if we are related or not because the Gaspard name in Kaplan is like the "Smith" name anywhere else. (ha) Do you know Eudon Gaspard from Abbeville or Whitney Gaspard (passed away years ago) from Kaplan?

THe entry in the Baptism book in St Joseph Church on Leon family was not written in by the priest in the column. It was written by Jan Lewis who worked at the rectory. She was never a Sarver, but Tunica Biloxi Indian. She died between 1891 and 1894, Acadia Parish. He died before she married Emelien Istre in 1875. I have that m arriage also. Gaspard's brother Louis Lucien Leon married Felecite Rosalie Bourque widow of Bodin. Louis L Leon signed all his papers ESQUIRE, Louis Leon. They had no children, however she left her estate to this husband.
