I am trying to find out more information about my Gassaway ancestors. I have seen this name spelled several ways in the census records for South Carolina.

R. - I believe is Rachel married to Henry Jr. though she is living alone.
Living next door to R. Gassaway is her daughter and son-in-law
James Lee and Nancy H. (36) (Nancy Harriet)
Living next door to James and Nancy is Rachel's son Henry (35) with his wife Millie.

1850 Western Division, Pickens, SC
Rachel Gassaway (60 is living without husband
Her son Henry (22) and daughter Minerva (18) are living with her
