My cousin and I remember reading somewhere that a portrait of Rev. Hugh Gaston (brother of Justice John) was supposedly sent to some US descendants because his line had died out in Antrim. Does anyone recall having heard of this before?
This is of particular signficance to us because our grandfather was born in Antrim and our family tradition says we descend from Rev. Hugh. We are exploring a possible missing link between Rev. Hugh and our earliest known ancestor, Peter Gaston, bc 1790, Ballywillan.
