I am looking for information on Albert B. Thomas who had a son, Corban Gatchel Thomas born ~ 1908 in Seventy Six, KY. Corban was given the middle name of Gatchel because his father, Albert was a part time photographer. Family history says Gatchel company had asked that Albert bring Corban to Louisville because of baby pictures of Corban, but he did not do so.

My sister just sent me a copy of the very old pslting re old Gatchel pictures. I note my mother's name on the list and those of her aunts and uncles. I am interested to know who has the pictures, etc now. Thanks

I just found your repoly and a reference in Nottingham Quaker records to David Gatchell d. March 1862 had been married to Hannah Pugh who died Nov. 24, 1859 at the age of 82. Still can't find reference to their marriage. I did find another reference to a Hannah Shortledge married to the same David!

E-maill has changed to aol.com Need info on family of Eugene Gatchell. F. Albert M. Julia. Eugene married a Minnie around 1894.. Minnie died in 1932. They had several boys and they were last known to be in South Dakota. Any info would be helpful.

My name is John Gatchel, and I used to be vice president of W. D. Gatchel & Sons (my father was president). We started out as a camera store way back in 1862 and in the 1970's moved into printing supplies. In 1999, my father sold the company to a competitor and has since retired. At the beginning of each year I review my family tree for those that have been by brick walls the previous year. WELL--'Ole John W. Gitchell' has been eluding me for many years.

This is what I have:

1. John W.1 Gitchell was born 1814 in Coshowton, OH or PA. He married Sarah Neal Bef. 1850 in GA, daughter of William Neal and Rebecca Slatton. She was born 1826 in GA.

In the 1860 Census Whitfield Co., GA Sarah Gitchell and her daughters are living with her parents, William and Rebeca Neal.

Sarah's second husband was Charles R. McAllister. She had three more girls Amanda, 1865, Elinor, 1866, Julie, 1869------

So, sometime between 1850-1860 John W. is gone leaving no trace and no family stories.This year I sure would like to fine what happen to Great-Great Grtandfather John W.
