Looking for information on the families of John Rains Gatlin and wife Minerva Wilson (daughter of Jesse Wilson and Manervia Smith.) This family is found in 1860 Colorado Co., Texas. I believe the Gatlins and Wilsons moved together from Tennessee to Hot Spring Co., Arkansas and into Texas.
There were two Gatlin sons - King Gatlin b. ca.1855 and Henry Carroll Gatlin b. ca. 1853 in Arkansas. There was also a daughter, Minerva Jane Gatlin who married Phillip Trammell. She was born in 1867. John R. and Minerva Gatlin are buried in Chambers County, Texas - just south of Liberty County where Henry Carroll Gatlin and wife Martha Harmon raised six sons and one daughter.
