Looking for information on Hugh Gauley (1819 - 1889). Kintail, Ontario. His wife was Mary Jane Scofield. They came from Ireland. Some sources list a place called Killingshander Ireland but I can find no such place. Any help would be welcome.

Thank you, B.Warnica, for answering my Gauley query. We have much to talk about, so if I can do it by E-mail, I would appreciate it. Just a minute ago, I had finished detailing for you all kinds of facts, and then hit some key, which wiped it all out. I'm too tired now to reconstruct my reply! (80 years young) The bottom line is Jane Gauley Lennox' parents were Jane Jami(e)son and David Gauley, b. 1800 in Ireland. Jane's parents were Andrew Jamison (no "e") and Mary Jane McFadden of Cootehill, Cty. Cavan. Let's figure out a way to continue this discussion. I'd love to know about your Gauley connection in Sincoe!

What you are asking about looks familiar to me but I have a Jane Jamieson married to a William Gauley. This is from their daughter (Jane Gauley) death registration. She married Thomas Lennox and when she died in 1929, her informant mentions her father was William. Do I have this wrong or do I have the wrong Gauley Jamieson people?
My Gauley family in Simcoe County is so hard to put together.

Looking for family of Annie, parents were Andrew and Mary. Annie m William Henry Churchill (b. 1867 in Newfoundland) in Nov 1899 in Barrie, Ontario.
IN 1901 Census of Canada two children, Mariah and John, are mentioned. Are they Annie's children of a previous relationship? Annie's sister, Ethel, is also living with them at the time.
Are there any children for Annie and William together???

Sarah "Mary" Gauley was born about 1849, the seventh child of Hugh and Mary Jane Scofield Gauley. Sarah was born in Canada and was my great grandmother on my mother's side. She ultimately married a Robert Clark (haven't found their marriage certificate but my grandmother was Ruby Ethel Clark born 1881). Sarah was widowed and subsequently married a James Cline Chrysler and had another daughter, Mary Elizabeth(Mamie)in 1886.

Archibald Black was born 2 Aug 1904 in Cambridge, Middlesex, MA to Charles Black and Annie Gaule. The family lived at 129 Gore St. in Cambridge in 1904.
His SSDI record shows that his SS card was issued in NJ.
He married Mildred Hymen in Jul 1913 in NJ. Mildred’s parents were William Hymen and Roseanna Rooney, of Paterson, Passaic, NJ.
Archibald died May 1977 in Arlington, Middlesex, MA.

Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

GAULEY, Hazel - It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She went peacefully in her sleep at the General Hospital on Wednesday, January 28, 2004. Beloved wife of John for 40 years. Loving mother and friend of Jean Rosenberg (Merl), Margaret Berlinguette (Clare Ferguson), Dorothy Caruso and John MacDonald (Tammy Bergamin). I am looking for any information someone might have on Thomas Gauley. He graduated from Lincoln High school in 1927. I do not have a birth date, but he had a VERY distinguishing feature. He had no nose. this was not common in the 1920's . I would appreciate ANY information that could help me.

I have a much earlier Emma Gauley, born in Natchez in 1845, as her family moved up the Mississippi to Canada.

My great-grandmother was Sarah Emma Creel Gauley of McComb/Natchez, Mississippi. She was living in Slidell, Louisiana, in 1920, and she is buried there. (There are still several Gauley's in Slidell.) I will have a date of her death soon. I am trying to find out about her and her husband, Lucius/Louis Gauley. Please contact me. Thank you!

We have an Abram Gauley in our family who lived in the Goderich Ontario area during the time period mentioned. Rene- I beleive the Gauleys you are enquiring about are quite possibly the same ones I am researching although I am not absolutely sure of the relationship yet. The name Scoefield (although not sure of its spelling )shows up in mine too. Also the name Hugh.We need to contact each other and compare notes.
