Surnames: Gauthier-Ellsworth
My Great-great grandfather was named William Gauthier (dob, unknown). I don't know his middle name. He was married to Maria (pronounced Madiaa) Ellsworth). William's parents came from Canada, ancestry French-Canadian. Maria, Black, French, Indian. My grandfather (William's son) was named Joseph Jeremiah Gauthier. Other siblings of my grandfather; Violet, William, Augustine, Pantin, Charles, Eula and Justine - all deceased. They grew up in Alexandria, LA. Most of the siblings moved to Los Angeles. We are creole (black). I too am having trouble going beyond my great-grandfather. Hope this helps..if anyone has more info on William's family please share.
