Surnames: Gautreau, Lozier, Malley, Mally
I’m very new to genealogy and would have probably never started if I’d been warned about how addicting it is. OK, I was warned, but I didn’t think it applied to me.
It seems from what I’ve read so far that any GAUTREAU should be somewhat easily linked to one of the known lines, but I can’t seem to make a connection to any of them. The following is the little bit I’ve uncovered about my grandparents and great grandparents. Any further clues would be greatly appreciated.
My great grandparents:
Dosithe GAUTREAU b. Tracadie, New Brunswick, Canada
m. Lucille LOZIER b. Tracadie, New Brunswick, Canada
(This information is in a memory book from my grandfather’s funeral. I don’t know who filled it out, or how accurate any of the information is).
My grandparents:
Dosithe Joseph GAUTREAU b. 4 Sep 1883, Tracadie, New Brunswick, Canada d. 7 Jul 1952
m. Mary Ellen MALLY (name on my mother’s birth certificate), Helen Gantre MALLEY (name in memory book and listed as Helen on 1930 census) b. 29 Aug 1884, Tracadie, New Brunswick, Canada d. ? Jul 1975
They had 12 children, Clara, Harriet (died at 18 months), George, Bella, Mary (Harriet), Dosithe Jr., Catherine, Helen, Harold, Lucille, Sandy, David (died in infancy).
According to the 1930 census, Dosithe J. came to the US in 1903. Helen’s immigration year is listed as unknown. His occupation is listed as Laborer and as Chopper on my mother’s birth certificate.
The memory book from my grandfather’s funeral lists a floral offering from David GAUTREAU and family. This may be my grandfather’s brother. I have no information about whether or not he had any siblings.
Thanks!
Barbara
