1900 Census we know is Guy transposed as Gay....NEED HELP!!

Surnames: Pierce, Guy, Gay, Reed, Cannon
My Grandmother's maiden name is Mary L. Guy (Pierce) her father is William A. Guy b.23 Jan 1883 Shelbyville/Bedford TN d. 10 Feb 1943 Those dates are my records. His mother Sarah E Guy maybe Gay just not sure?! She is listed on 1900 census of Bedford County TN listed as Widow:

Sarah E. Guy (Gay?) b. Dec 1842-1844 not 100% sure on the year I'm thinking more 1843 in Georgia
William A. Guy (Gay?) b. 23 Jan 1883 d. 10 Feb 1943 Tennessee
Fany (Fannie?) Guy (Gay?) b. Jun 1884
Irine Guy (Gay?) b. Feb 1889 I believe her first name was spelled incorrectly by the census taker but who knows.

What I do know is that William married a Fannie B Reed (Guy) b. 11 Jan 1878 d. 15 Jul 1951 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN they moved to Mobile, AL before the 1930 Census where they both died and were buried at the Pinecrest Cemetery
Children from this marriage:
Laura Guy b.1911 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN
John Guy b. 1913 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN
James Guy b. 1917 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN
Nancy Guy b. 1918 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN
Mary Guy b. 1920 Bedford/ Shelbyville TN d. 4 Jan 2007 Mobile, AL
Fannie B Reed was born in Bedford TN her parents were John T. Reed and Nancy Cannon (father was Almon Cannon and mother Elizabeth Stewart) as well as all the Guy children and William (according to the Census of 1900 says he was born in Tennessee.

I am trying to get a line on this Sarah E. Guy? Gay? ugh! is this her married name or her maiden? I just don't know and this is so frustrating...she doesn't show up on any Census after 1900 and in the 1930 Census it shows William Guy and his family in Mobile AL

Please if anyone can fill in any information it would be very helpful and I will be so very, very grateful!!
