Here are some more of the Devon UK Geen Family thanks to a Rooks family member.
Parracombe P.R.s show Richard Geen married Traphena BALE in
Parracombe, 25 April 1709.
There is also Phillip Geen alias NICHOLLS and Trephoena shown as
the parents of:
- Phillip Geen alias NICHOLLS bapt 28 Jan 1710, Parracombe
(married Elizabeth LUSIMORE 1734, Parracombe) (Phillip and
Elizabeth's daughters are also shown in the Register as Geen
alias NICHOLLS)
- George Geen bapt 28 March 1713 Parracombe, buried 7 April 1713
Parracombe
- George Geen bapt 27 Feb 1714, Parracombe (married Anne PUGSLEY
3 Jan 1740, Parracombe)
- Agnes Geen bapt 14 May 1718, Parracombe, buried 1 June 1718,
Parracombe
- Dorothy Geen bapt 14 May 1719, Parracombe, buried 17 April
1803, Parracombe (married Jeffrey ROOKE 17 April 1745,
Parracombe)
- Alexander Geen bapt 12 March 1723, Parracombe, buried 14
November 1736, Parracombe)
- Agnes Geen alias NICHOLLS bapt 15 April 1726, Parracombe.
I dont know what the significance is of the name Geen being
associated with the name NICHOLLS. A number of Geen families are
shown that way. Any ideas??
Also I wondered if Richard Geen and Phillip Geen could have been
the same person. The dates would work out... marriage to
Traphena in April 1709, first baby Phillip arrives in Jan 1710.
They were fertile folks back in those days!
Trephena's name is spelled many ways... Trephoena, Typheny,
Tiphonia.... must have been quite a challenge to the hardworking
Parracombe church warden!
She was buried 1 April 1842, Parracombe.
