I'm hoping so much there is a connection.
My great grandparents Georgeous Hanna Mellick and his wife Nasta JEHA immigrated to Australia in 1892. They came with his brother John Mellick and his wife Julia and settled in Rockhampton.
Nasta death certificate indicates she was born 1875 in Mt Lebanon to Nicolas Jeja (policeman) and rebecca Anthony.
I recall Uncle Albert (Jeha) growing up and his brother Elias, but I can't find out if there is a connection ( maybe cousins) nor can I get any other connections on this side of the family.

I have learnt in the last week that maybe she came from Kousba.
George came from Bterram.
I am travelling to Lebanon in a few weeks as an extension to Jordan and Turkey tour and hope to place my feet on the soil of my ancestors.

Any input / direction would be fantastic
Leanne Mellick

Hi Jane, I tried your personal email, but it bounced back...
Fantastic to hear from you.

It's been such a long time since I focused on genealogy, I've dabbled in and out over the last 30 years following an assignment when I was in school.

In the 80's I was obsessed with it and was fortunate to have the availability of older family members still alive which helped concrete some of the lineage.

In the early 2000's I had time again to fertilise and water the tree.

My cousin Karen then had her opportunity over the last 10 years

Now here I am, ready to travel to the Middle East, including Lebanon with my son and I wish I had put my finger back into the tree last year when we started planning.

Wow that's a bit of history.

MELLICK
During the 80's and old family tree member given to me form Stanton Mellick who visited michael mellick in Beirut and gave me a handwritten family tree with many members and dates back to 1680. I also have another one from Yvonne mellick (written 1958)I will attempt to scan the original tonight or tomorrow tonight and send to you.

JEHA
Ahhh. The only info I have is the name of her parents.

I do know that George & Nasta arrived in Australia in 1892 with his brother John and wife Julie.

I remember uncle Albert (Jeha) when growing up in rockhampton as a child, and there was also. Elias. Their time on earth has long gone. My immediate family members do not know the exact connection assuming they were cousins.

That's a bit of a start. To get you head pondering.

leanne.mellick@gmail.com
Hi Lea,
I am not sure at present if there is a connection, although i am longing for one! It has been v. difficult tracking down Jeha family members. I am interested that you use the 'J' and not 'G' since that is what the members of this family in Sydney use although they say it is more commonly called Geha in Lebanon. The only Mellick-like name i have in this tree is Frederick Lindsay Mallick who married a Nozlie (Maud) Malouf, daughter of George Moses Malouf and his wife Julia Alouf. Back to the Jeha's. My Betsy Jeha was one of 8 children born in Zahle to Khalil Jeha and unknown wife. Her sibling's names were: Adma, John, Najib, marie, Rachid, Victoria and Nicolau. She married Frank Moses Malouf (brother to the George above) in lebanon in 1900. Frank had come to Australia with his brothers in about 1889 and then returned to Lebanon to marry.

Perhaps, though, your Nasta may be a sister to Betsy's father Khalil? Let me know if you know any more about siblings of Nasta/Nasra. My email is jmkinsman@gmail.com
Thanks and regards
Jane

Hi Jane, after many years I am getting back into my family tree before I travel to Lebanon. Ian the great grand daughter of Georgeous Mellick and his wife Nasta/Nasra JEHA who immigrated from Lebanon to Australia about 1894 and settled in Rockhampton. According to documents she was born Mt Lebanon, Syria and is the daughter of Nicolas Jeha & Rebecca Anthony. From there I am stumped!
Any connection?

Hi Nancy,
Hi,
I notice you have posted a message re the Geha family. I am searching for Geha/Jeha from Zahle whose children emigrated to Australia and Brazil. The father's name was Khalil Geha who died in 1934. Don't know his wife's name. They had the following children:
Adma Geha, who married a Zarzur and went to Brazil, John Geha, Marie or Mary Geha, Najib or Jim Geha who went to Brazil and had six children there,Nicolau Geha who married a Linda Malouf and emigrated to Brazil, Rachid Geha, Victoria Geha who married a Lutvey, and Betsy Geha (1886-1934) who emigrated to Australia after marrying Frank Moses Malouf and had eight children here. I have a photo of the parents and children c 1900 in Zahle but know not much more than this. If you can make a connection, please contact me at jmkinsman@gmail.com
thanks
Jane

Greetings,
I apologize for the delay in responding to you late regarding your questions about family members.
I've seen the Geha name spelled different ways also..Gehay, Jeha, Geha and so on. The names that you list in your email are not ones that are on my Geha family tree. However, there is woman, in Toledo Ohio, who we suspected may have been related to my Geha family. She was able to make a connection between our two Geha families just this year. While we are distant cousins, we are definitely of the same Geha blood line. She has an extensive Geha family tree. I guarantee you, she would be more than thrilled to be in contact with you - she may know the Geha's that you are searching for in your family tree. Would you mind if I send her an email and tell her how to contact you?
Please let me know if this meets with your approval and I will contact her.

Warm Regards,
Nancy

I've noticed some old postings by you on Ancestry re the Geha family in Australia.

I am currently looking at the following 8 siblings of the Geha family and wonder if you can make any connection with those you
have already in your tree. This family has always spelt their surname with a 'J' but I believe the G is more common and perhaps what it originally was in Lebanon.

Betsy Geha – b. 1886 in Zahle, Lebanon d. 1934 in Egypt (whilst on holiday from Australia).Married Frank Moses Malouf in Lebanon in about 1900 before emigrating to Australia.
They had eight children in Croydon, Forsayth and Cairns, Far North Queensland before retiring to Sydney in about 1925.
Najib Geha – m. ? They had five daughters and one more child – unknown sex. They were Bertha, Nellie, Rozita, Sonya and Yumna. May have emigrated from Lebanon to Sao Paulo, Brazil
Adma Geha, m. to a ? Zazur and they had a son, Maurizio and a daughter, Rozita. May have emigrated from Lebanon to Sao Paulo, Brazil
Victoria Geha m. a Lutvey. They had two sons Edmond and Roberto and a daughter Lily.
Marie Geha
Rachid Geha
John Geha m. Had one daughter, Janne.
Nicolau Geha, emigrated to Sao Paulo, Brazil sometime after 1900, married Linda Malouf, daughter of Chicory Malouf (brother to Frank Moses Malouf above). Had one son Roberto. Roberto m. Sonia Kassab and they had six children: Casio, Sabrina, Sandra, Susana, Sylvana and Sylvia

I'd be interested if you recognise any of these names. We do not have the names of their parents who i believe remained in Lebanon.

Look foreard to hearing from you

According to the person that I am helping, her family supposedly came from the Zahle area of Lebanon, but she has never been able to find out anything about the family before they came to the U.S. If you know of any Geha's in the U.S. that can trace the name to an identified person known to be from Zahle, that would be very helpful. She has family in both Detroit and Northern Ohio. Would you be comfortable sharing your information? Thank you.
Hi Nancy,
I have just embarked on a project to connect the US Gehas with the Australian Gehas and obvioulsy back to the Lebanese Gehas. If you have any information that could be of help, It would be much appreciated.
I was born in Perth, West Australia in 1965 but spent 11 years of my life in Lebanon. My father, Michael Geha, was born in Bishmizzine, Elkoura, North Lebanon and is living in Sydney.

I plan to share the information with all the Geha families across Lebanon, USA, Australia and Europe once complete. The family tree is building up and I am hoping to connect three different branches from Zahle, as well as North Lebanon (Elkoura), as well as South Lebanon.

If you know any other Geha descendants who could provide information, please pass this to them.

My details are:

Fadi Geha

D.O.B 12/12/1965

Bachelor of Engineering, Civil

AUB / University of Sydney

44 Walton Street

Blakehurst NSW 2221

Australia

Tel: +61 411 141 065 (Mobile / Cell phone)

fgeha@viewlocity.com
Ablan or Kablan Descendants of Khalil G.Ablan & Mary Geha

Looking for any possible descendants of the marriage of Khalil G. Ablan & Mary Geha, both who are buried side by side in Colorado. Mary died around the age of 34 from an epidemic in the late 1899's or early 1900's. It is thought that they had children. Mary was one of 5 sisters and her descendants are the last of the missing Geha sisters relatives. Khalil married one of Mary's sister's and had a son born in Lebanon so there are other Ablan cousins that are known.

Theresa, Have you been to the family reunions in Bryan Ohio? I am the Geha-Etoll family historian. My grandmother, Effie Geha-Etoll was your great-great grandfather's(Kablan Nicholas')neice. You have some Wakens in your family history. I would be a 4th or 5th cousin to you. I have you and your siblings in the family tree. If you would like me to send you the file, please contact me. It is a big file. Maybe, we could help each other and make sure the information that I have on your family is correct.

Theresa, I posted a message to you over a week ago and for some reason it did not get to you. So here it is again:

Hello Theresa,
How about if I mail you the Geha tree and a family report to go with
it? If
I e-mail my files you would also end up with my entire family from all
sides, which is over 700 people and others that you are not your
relatives.
If you would send me your address, I will print everything up and send
it to
you.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,
Cousin Nancy Alex(grandaughter of Effie Geha-Etoll)
