Hello,
My name is Miriam Zorn and I am a 15-year-old student from Germany.
During my efforts of researching my ancestry I have stubled across your note on this website and on the basis of my information I have gathered so far, I believe that my grandmother Hildegard Zorn (born Heitkötter)is Anna Heitkötter's niece.

My grandmother has often told us (me and my older brother, who is writing this message for me) about the post-war supply packages she had received from 'Aunty Anna' from America.
According to her tellings (I have just phoned her to make sure my information are as detailed as possible.) Anna had worked as a nanny and had later accompanied the family she had worked for to the US before the war. Unfortunately we do not have any information about that very family.
But what we do know is that Anna later married a man called Frank Geib. They had six or seven children of which my grandmother only remembers the names Jacob, Bernard and Irmgard. She is also quite certain about the time when Jacob and Bernard were born and it matches the dates given in your post.
Last but not least my grandmother gave us the return address of the packages. It was:

Aurora, Illinois

Josef Geib was the son of Valentin Geib and Maria Christina Kauer.

Katharina Schweigel was the daughter of Franz Schweigel and Barbara Strömich.

My maternal grandmother, Minnie Geib Wayman might have been a neice of Jacob Geib. Her father, Johan, immigrated to Pittsburgh from Germany with his brother, Jacob, and his
(Johan's) sons by a first marriage. Iam descended from
Johan through his second marriage to B. Hilf. My maternal grandmother Minnie Geib Wayman was their daughter.

Doris Mildred Geib, born 9 Oct 1935 is my grandmother's maiden name. She then married a man named Richard Wilson (which I know absolutely nothing about except that he is the father of my mother and my aunt). She then married Joseph Hare Law who adopted both my mother and my aunt. I've tried finding what I can about this man who is my biological grandfather but have come up with nothing. I was wondering if anyone knows about this or is connected to this in any way. I'm in dire need to know my biological grandfathers since I have never known either of them in my life.

I am thinking this family maybe totally unrelated, but am not sure so I post the following to you in the event you know of this family, as there are some similarities... Frank was born about 1870, and had a rather large family. I am not clear on who his father is, so possibly his father could be in your tree?!

I don't know if this is related or not, but have a few Geib members that I have been searching for connections to immigrating from Bavaria, Germany, and living in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin. I have posted the note below on several of these forums searching for Geib connections, especially if ending in Aurora Illinois or Wisconsin.

My g-grandmother, Eliza Bredemeyer, apparently married a Geib, possibly in Ohio, possibly a Peter Geib, in the 1800's. Others say that she married a Jacob Geib, also in Ohio.

I am looking for information on Josef Geib b. Dec. 15, 1844 in Huziejow, Galicia, Austria. He was the son of Walenty Geib and Krystyna Maria Kauer. On June 9, 1868 he married Katarzyna Schweigel. Their daughter, Karolina was my great grandmother. Any info would be very helpful.

I would be interested in following any studies on the GEIB surname. I understand that the surname of GIPE may have come from the GEIB name. I have a GIPE ancestor that I've not yet been able to link to the other Geib/Gipe families in the area of Pennsylvania where he initially resided. At least one of his sons has male descendants that could be encouraged to submit YDNA once a study has been established. If your family member creates a study, do post back and let us know.

Start with what you know and work backwards. There are many Landestreu films available to rent from the LDS. Are you familiar with the process? I am aware of Landestreu Klayh's that originated from Switzerland and then Weitersbach Germany and later to Landestreu. If you need help or info, please email me.

I am looking for the GEIB family who had a daughter named Phillipina. She was born 19, March 1829 in Reichstal Rheinbayern, Germany. She came to the USA in 1847 and married Michael FISCHBACH 27, December 1848. They had the following children; Peter, Elizabeth W.F., John, Catherine and Adam FISCHBACH. She died 08, September 1919 in New Bremen, Ohio.

I read your posts and I have a marriage recored for Maria Geib nee Doerbacher. Her parents are listed as ?? Doerbacher and Barbara ?? She was a widow at the time of this marriage.
she married a Geisel in Elmira. She also was living in Elmira at the time. Please contact me if you have any information on this person
