Surnames: Geise, Marburger, Burr, Saylor
In 1870 and 1880 Philip Geise, variously spelled Geice/Geis/Geise/Geese, was living in Forward Twp, Butler Co, PA with his wife Susan (Marburger) and their children. In 1900 and 1910 they were living in Connoquenessing Twp, Butler Co. Philip was born ~1834 in PA, His parents were also born in PA. Susan, born in Cranberry Twp, Butler Co. ~1856, was the daughter of Johann Heinrich (Henry) Marburger and Marguerite (Margaret) Burr, both born in Germany. The 1900 Census indicated that Philip and Susan had had 10 children including Louis, Emma, Amanda, Anna?, Mary M, Laura, Bert, Elmer, and Philip, Jr. The daughter Mary M. married Edward M. Saylor. I have not been able to determine Philip’s location before 1870 or who his parents were. Any clues in that regard would be much appreciated.
