I'm looking for information on my 3-Great Grandpa John F. Geiser. Family says his middle name is Franklin, but found in census the name is Fredrick. He was born in 1830 (Switzerland, according to most census records) and arrived in this country in 1846 according to census records. Can't find any immigration records and wonder if this year is wrong. He was supposed to have served in the War Between the States (Civil War), but I don't have enough information about him to locate military records. He was married to Margaret I (I think Johnston is the last name). Would like to know his parents names and where he's from and any other insight anyone might have.
