I have information on a Richard Georgi (Georgie) from Rockville CT. Mother was Wilhelmine Bristol Georgie b. 1851- married to William Georgie in 1889. Two children from that marriage were William b. 1889 and Richard born circa 1897 but she had 2 daughters from a previous marriage to a Keller. Martha and Helen. Helen married Paul Weber and had a son Walter. Martha married Alfred Loos and had a son William. She later married Peter Frey and had several children by that marriage - one of them was named Doris. If you are related to this family, I have some photos.

DLanders,

Looks like we are related. Following is a summary of my records.

My grandmother Emma Anna Georgi was born on 1 Sept. 1876 in Zwickau. My records show a brother, Paul Arno Georgi, born 7 July 1880. Their father was Christian Gottlieb Georgi, born 1849 in Zwickau; his wife was Ida Wilhelmine Flechsig.

Emma eimigated in 1895 to Staunton, IL (and she may have had a cousin as a traveling companion). In 1897 she married Otto Haubrich and shortly thereafter they moved to Kenosha, WI.

In 1923 her father Christian and mother Ida immigrated to NY on the ship Mongolia and lived with Emma in Kensoha.

Christian died in Kenosha on 6 Jan 1932; Ida died in 1934 in Greenville, NY (presumably living with a daughter - either Elsa or Rose).

Paula Arno emigrated in 1909 on the ship Main to Baltimore. He registered for the draft in Kenosha in 1918 and died there in 1949.

Does this match any of your records? I'd appreciate any additional information that you may have.

Donna Reichle

I don't have those names in my research. The earliest Georgi that I have is William, born in 1837. He was married to Wilhelmine Bristol. They were the parents of the two children, Lucy and William Georgi, of whom I have a photo. There were several other children as well, including some step-children from Wilhelmine's earlier marriage to a Keller. I have one photo of Helen Keller Weber and several of another daughter, Martha Keller, who married my great Uncle William Loos then, after his death, married Peter Frey.

There was a sister, Molly, as well.

I have found a tie to the Georgi family in my line and they are also from Saxony so it seems very coincidental that your last name also matched another family in my line as well.

I have been reading this thread with great interest as all of the names here tie into research I have been doing on the Loos line of my family who are also from Chemnitz and also Hohenstein in Saxony. Within my family photo album, I have pictures with the names Georgi (also spelled Georgie and Georgy), Reichle and Sieber (without a ger at the end). All emigrated to CT in the late 1800's. The names I have are: Elizabeth Reichle, Emil and Helene Sieber, William, Lucy, Clara, Annie and Richard Georgi (Georgie). Please contact me if any of these names match your research.

She has one brother Paul (my father) and two sisters, Paula and Pat. Monty and Moira have had at least 5 children together. As I have said, I'm unsure of the spelling but it sounds like Georgi, and am pretty sure it ends in "i". Any help would be greatly appreciated.
