Hi we have that name on my husband's side and I am just beginning to try to find the line. His grandmother Emma was from New Ulm,Minnesota. Her father was Michael. I have no idea if there is a connection but I thought I would just get in touch just in case. Judy

Freddie Randolph, I am amazed by the quick resposne. I am just beginning. my search. my great grandfather was Theodore Georgius, he was born in 8-29-1856 in Germany. From what I was told he worked in Kaiser Willhelm stables prior to coming to the US in the maid 1880's. He settle in Cortland MN for a short time and about 1892 he moved to Redwood county MN. He was a farmer and he dies 6-25-1909. He married Agusta Schoenherr sometime in 1886. There was debate if they ere married prior to coming to the US or if he met her on the boat on the way to the US. From what I heard she worked in Kiaser Willhelms kitchen, and they left on short m\notice from Germany. I am interested in if he had any brothers or sisters parents etc.
I would appreciate any assistance.
Thanks again ... Lynn Georgius
Lgeorgius@yahoo.com

I haven't placed my line of "Georgius" ancestors in the Minnesota area, but it is quite possible that they were there before they came to Iowa and South Dakota. They were from the Schleswig-Holstein area of Germany and came over in the 1860's. I can be contacted at: fredstev@pld.com Maybe we can help each other. I am very interested in any and all "Georgius" surnames.
