My maiden name was Giffert. I'm having difficulty discovering much information about my father's family tree. I do know that his father came here from the Austro-Hungarian empire and died in a construction accident in NYC around 1918. His name was Joseph Geffert. The spelling was changed when the children were in school in Roselle, NJ.
My father once told me that he had uncles who came to the US with his dad, but they didn't remain in contact with one another. I'd love to know if I am related to any other Gefferts.
