Hi,
Looking for anybody from the family of Johann Herman GERDES, b. 1884 IL, d. 1957 MI & his wife, Sophie SCHULTZ, b. 1886 Germany, d. 1960 MI. Herman (as he was known as) and Sophie m. 1909 IL. Both are bur. Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia, MI. Herman may have been a minister, probably Lutheran Church.
Herman GERDES was the son of Abraham Hinrich GERDES, b. 1858 in Hesel, Ostfriesland, Germany, d. 1925 IL, and his wife, Anna Hesser BOCKMAN, b. 1857 Gristede, Amt Oldenburg, Germany, d. 1928 IL.
Abraham was the son of Renke GERDES, b. 1825 Hesel, d. 1876 IL.
Am interested in any descendants of Herman & Sophie GERDES.
Herman's sister, Martha Antke Fredericke GERDES, b. 1896 IL, m. Carl KUNART also was in the same area in MI. She d. 1992 and is also bur. Glen Eden Cemetry, Livonia, MI.
Another sister, Maria Magdalene GERDES, b. 1899 IL, m. Carl HUNSINGER may have been in Detriot, MI.
