I am looking for information on any Gerhard's from the Nordrhein Westfalen area in Germany. I have a puzzle of names that I am trying to piece together.
What I know is that my 3rd great grandmother's name was Marie Catherina Gerhard and she married Johann Friedrich Dornhoefer. They immigrated from the village of Feudingen via Bremen to Texas in 1848. Marie Catherina's mother's name was Catherine Gerhard. Marie's father died before she was born or they married, so she got her mom's last name.
Johann Friedrich's mother's maiden name was also Gerhard. I've seen her first name Auguste and Agnese, not sure which is correct. She married Johann Heinrich Dornhoefer.

If any of this sounds familiar to anyone researching Gerhard's please reply. I have found additional Gerhard information, but I am getting a little confused.
