I'm relatively new at this so I apologize in advance if I am breaking a convention by posting this information. Below is everything I have on Sylvester German and family, with date and place information marked private if the individual is still living. I'd love to hear back from folks that can fill in the missing pieces of the tree, and hope some of the information I've posted is useful. For example, I've been able to cross-check against some death certificates, and try to note where I did so.

"Moses German, his wife Susannah, and their children moved to Hopewell township sometime between 1807 and 1810 from Baltimore Maryland. They came to this area with the William Rutlege family whom were distant cousins. They cleared the land and set up farming the area. Their daughter Elizabeth who was born in 1792 married Samuel Williams there in 1810. They lived the rest of their lives in Hopewell township. Moses died August 15, 1854 with his wife following 5 days later. "Alice E. WHITE married Sylvester German. They had four children, known by me 1. Ollie Etta German 2. Ora D. GERMAN 3. Gentry H. GERMAN 4. Loyd German. Alice WHITE passed away between the birth of Loyd German and the year of 1900 in Barry County, Missouri. When did she die? Where is she buried? It is said to be in a low spot in Barry County, Missouri by an older, living Grand-daughter. She has been there twice or more, but doesn't recall exactly where the cemetery is located. Some of her direct Family is buried in the Pilant Cemetery in Barry County, Missouri." "Monett Times Goldie Galyen - Abstract

Goldie Viola Beaver Galyen, 92, Cassville, died Saturday, March 25, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville.

Mrs. Galyen was born March 12, 1914, near Butterfield, the daughter of William Henry and OLLIE Etta German HARRIS. She was a homemaker and a participant in the NAMPA Rodeo and National Rodeo.

She married Henry Manford Beaver on February 15, 1934, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1975. She married Mutt Galyen, who also preceded her in death.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Sylvester, Roy, Charles and Frank, and three sisters, Lillie, Cora and Opal.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, March 27, with Pastor Doyle Russell officiating, Burial was at New Salem Cemetery, Seligman, next to her first husband.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville."
