The Fourth of July reminded me that I found a book entitled, "The Diary of Elbridge Gerry, Jr." in a small used book store and picked it up in case it would be of benefit to someone in their family history. It has a forward by Annette Townsend who is his granddaughter. This Gerry was the son of the Elbridge Gerry who was Governor of Massachusetts, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and VP of the U.S. The Diary was written while his father served as VP. The book was published by Bretano's Publishers in New York in 1927. There is a photo of the actual pages of the diary, pictures of Thomas R. Gerry and James Thompson, his brothers. There is some family history in the forward, the pictures are from family collections, and I have not read through the book to see what else of family history value it might contain. It is in excellent condition. I would like to see this book find it's family. If anyone is interested, pls contact me and let me know your relationship to this person.
