I saw a whole family tree on the World Tree about your line of Gettlers. It went back to Germany and to New Mexico. Don't know if you saw it but I sent it to Shannon. Mom

GETTLER, Caroline, 65 years, of 231 Fifth street, is listed among the dead on The General Slocum, a steamship that burned in the East River in New York City on June 15, 1904.

Henry Gettler, son of Casper Gettler and Christina Kolb was born on May 13, 1857.

He was married in Louisville, Ky on Nov 23, 1880 to a woman named Allgeier. They were married at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Louisville.

There is an Anton Gettler buried on the Allgeier plot in St. Michael's Cemetery in Louisville, Ky.

Any information on this family would be appreciated.

Is the John Gettler you speak of John B. Gettler , wife Sylvia Archuleta ,I am not sure of the spelling. They also lived in Pueblo, Colorado. Their children live in Pueblo and in California.

my mothers maiden name is louise isabel gettler of pueblo, colorado. Her father was robert gettler and his father was frank g. gettler of pueblo. Frank is the brother of joseph and john gettler. How stinkin' interesting is this! i just decided to Google my mom's last name and i found this message board. I have always been interested in my mothers family tree, but never had the resource to look it up. Please respond if you're related to any of these people.

The Joseph William Gettler was born in Salt Creek, Pueblo, Colorado. His grandfather's name was also Joseph William Gettler, however HE came from Germany and changed the spelling of his surname from Guttler. I wonder if were like related?

My father was Owen Melchior Gettler, Jr. His father was, of course, Sr. They were both from Kansas. My father born in KC, KS, I do not know if my grandfather was born there.
