Looking for info on the family of my husband's grandmother, Maddelena Giannattasio, who was born about 1879 in Solofa, Campania, Italy. She married Giovanni Esposito of San Sossio, Campania, they emigrated to southern West Virginia where Giovanni was a coal miner. They had 3 children, Lucia (b.Feb. 28, 1905), Antoinette (b. April 10, 1911) and my father-in-law, Luigi, (b. Oct. 15, 1912) before Giovanni was killed in a mine cave-in on July 3, 1913. Maddelena married Giuseppe Frustaglia has one more child, Alessandro, before she died on April 18, 1917 in Houston Hollow, West Virginia. SUPPOSEDLY, Maddelena had relatives in Detroit....but, after her death, her children were sent to live with Esposito relatives back in Italy.
