Maria Petralia, Gaetano Petralia, Vita Petralia of Lawrence, MA

I am trying to find information about Maria, Gaetano, and Vita Petralia. They are the siblings of Giuseppe (Anna Pappalardo), Angelina (Frank Cavallaro), Carmelo (Grace DiGiatano), Salvatore "Sam"(Maria Torrissi), Antonino "Tony" (Bernice) and Alfio "Alfred" (Carmelina Giaquinta)Petralia, children of Pasquale and Girolama "Nellie" Petralia. They moved to the United States in the early 1910's settling in Lawrence, MA. Vita and Alfio traveled to the US with their mother in 1914 and still lived with their parents in the 1920 Census, but I have no idea what came of her after that. Our family, Giuseppe Petralia, returned to Sicily in the early 1930's, so contact with the family was slight. If you know anything about what became of Maria, Gaetano, or Vita, please let me know. Thank you!

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you. I'm sorry but I don't know how we are related. My father was Joseph Giaquinto. I never had any relations with him until the last few years of his life. My mother and father split while she was still carrying me. I found out about the Giaquintos when I got older. I found out the family that lived about 2 block away from me where my couisins. I know it was my uncle Michael that lived in the back of the building,I don't remember his wife's name, I just know that she was really nice to me when I came knocking at her door she invited me in, and had to fry up some green peppers and made me a sandwich, which I'd never had before but it was really good. Then she showed me my father's marine uniform. I remember her most of all,I also remember having met her with my mother when I was very young. I think she use to tell my mother how my father was, because my mother and her seemed like they where friends. If you want to answer me, my e-mail is j-obrien@kc.rr.com,. I just meet Dominicks grandson a few months ago he dropped out here to visit for a day. Reminded me of my father, hgt and features and weight. Nice guy tho really liked him. Reminded me of my father but was a lot friendlier and more personality than Joe. I don't know if you know Angie Tom's daughter but we've been in touch for years she's a great person, she went over to Italy a few years ago and visited one of my father's couisins and had a nice visit, she was about 80 at the time. Well I'll end now. Hope to here from you soon. Take care Jean

i have a great grand father named Michael Giaquinto who came to america in 1907 when he was only a year old with his father Salvator Giaquinto and mother Angela Santangelo. they came from Capua, Caserta Province, not too far away from Napoli. Michael was born in 1906 over there in the above mentioned little village/town. they came to America to meet up with Guiseppe Santagnelo, Angela's brother, in Philadelphia. Michael had three other brothers; Joseph, Anthony, and Dominik(Dominick), and a supposed sister; Geatain. please let me know if any of this information helps, and if you'd like I can show/direct you to the site where two kind people provided this information, along with the ship manifest for the S.S. FLORIDA, the ship they arrived on.

Hi! My name is far from being yours but it´s because I come from a mother (name Ruiz) comes from a mother (name Cardilo or Valenzuela) who was borned in Guatemala (it´s my born country). She gave birth to my mother (Olga) but didn´t get married (Imagine that in an small country). When my mother was five years old - 1930 - she met a man called Mario Giaquinto (he was a doctor who came to work here) and then both flew to Italy (or it´s supposed so). My mother received some letters from Italy but then, suddenly, she didn´t know more; it´s believed that, for the II World War, they flew to Ethiopia or Siberia.
Do you have any clue?
I am 52 years old (my father´s family name is Arce) and suddenly, I need to know where I come from (maybe it´s because I am in the 50ths crisis).
I will appreciate any news. Thank you.
Giaquinto

I am trying to find any inf. on a Andrew Giaquinto and his father Luca. They lived in NY. Luca came to this country from Italy. Little is known about this family. It is possible that when Luca first came to this country his name was shortened to Quinto and then changed back to Giaquinto. Any inf. would be appreciated.

My father was Richard C. giaquinto - born `1920 and emigrated to US from Aiello del Sabato with his mother Kathryn (Katrina Saporito Giaquinto) and his other brother Antonio (Anthony J. Giaquinto b. 1923 about) My dad's name was Virgilio Vincente Carmine Giaquinto. HIs father came thru Ellis Island 2x before my grandmother came in 1925 or 1926 on the Columbus (?) ship from Italy. Antonio, my grandfather, came and settled in NJ with my great uncle (my grandmother, Kathryn (later Janelli) Saporito Giaquinto's brother Sam Saporito Sr. and his wife Rosa. My grandmother and grandfather also had a son Michael between 1920 and 1923 who died of childhood illness in Italy. My grandparents also had two more children Constantina (Constance, Connie, Nina) Giaquinto nee Zachary nee Cohn and Helen(a) Giaquinto DeDominicis after they were both in the US. My grandfather died of a heart attack, so they say, via doing electrical work - he was not an electrician - in a wet basement and got elecytrocuted - His piasanos helped him out and gave him liquor - something killed him during the incident. This is probably my family. Rumor has it that my grandfather Antonio had a brother or cousin who was also Giaquinto who settled in Philadelphia but that is unknown. Let me know who you are.....Donna Giaquinto

Hi,
I was in a catholic monstery for 14 years and lost track of the woman who raised me as a child. She is (was) Esther Giaquinto. I cannot locate her. Have tried many internet searches. Her old phone number Lambert 5-7884 was disconnected by the time I began my search in 1984. She once lived at 117 Madison Avenue in Paterson New Jersey. I would so much like to know if she is still alive and where she might be. Thanks so much.
