My husbands' family of Ballards goes back to a Henry L. Ballard who married a 2nd time in May of 1879 to a Susan
GIARD. She is named on the marriage return as his mother.
He is 53 at the time of this marriage. It also states his father's name is William Ballard. They married in Fayette Co. IL
