Seeking info. on PETER GIARD, born in Canada Aug. 1823, came to US in 1877; and daughter ODILLE GIARD, born in Mass. Aug. 1860, who married FELIX GATINEAU June 20, 1882.
In a 1920 newspaper article noting the 50th anniversary of Daniel and Mary (Marie) Dumas of Southbridge, Mary refers to Odille Gatineau as her sister. But Mary's parents were Joseph Bourassa/Burrows and Celestia 'Sally' (Potvin) Bourassa/Burrows. Mary was born 1852, and her father passed away in 1854. Odille GIARD, as noted, was born in 1860.
Did Celestia get re-married to Peter GIARD? Were Mary and Odille half-sisters, or step sisters?
