Charles Guardalabene , aged 73, of Hampton, died on Tuesday October 7, 2003
He was born on February 22, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Frank and Nancy (Sampson)
Guardalabene. He was Produce Manager for Stumps Marker for 30 years and a U.S. Air Force
Veteran.
He is survived by: his wife; Helen (Rhodes) Guardalabene, his daughters, Barbara
Sharkey of Bucks County, Nancy Tuttle of OH and Leora Reagan of Glenshaw, his sons;

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by Four (4) Brothers and one (1) Sister.

Antonino married Maria Letteria Cavaliere in New York in 1889. Two sons -- Girolamo (1891) and Giovanni (1893). I believe Antonino was from Messina. Maria Letteria was born in Tunis to parents from Messina. Any info on Girolamo or Giovanni appreciated.

We must be related. Your grandmother was named after my grandmother who was a daughter of her brother or cousin.
I would like to get information regarding our family. I will share any family information I have with you.
My grandmother was 2 when she came to USA and lived in Donalsonville, La. I have found pictures without names of the family. Then I have some with names.

My Great Grandfather was Anthony Giardina born in Venice and died in 1918 in Brooklyn NY.He married Francis Volpe in 1900 Sicily, Italy, She was born April 24, 1874 in Scicily Italy and Died September 03, 1958 in Brooklyn NY. They had seven children
Rose dob 1902 married Noah Pelino
Nicholas dob 1903 Married Jeanette Giordano
Vita dob 1907 Married Louis Mattera
Anthony Jr. dob 1911 married Christina Benevento (my Grandparents)
Salvatore dob 1913 married Rose

My Giardina's are from New York. Anthany born in Venice and died 1918. His name might also be Rutino Giardina. He married Francis Volpe in 1900 in Sicily, Italy. She was born 24 apr 1874 in Sicily Italy and died September o3, 1958 in Brooklyn NY. They imegrated to US in 1903. Had 7 children. If this is a realtion, I will give you what I do have.

Ok many of these posts are 3-4 years old. Maybe someone can help. I am Jeneen Olive (Giardina) daughter of Vincent J. Giardina Jr. & Alice Giardina (Torrey). My grandfather is Vincent J. Giardina Sr. and was married to Fay Giardina (Sanginitti?? I cannot spell it) who died Aug. 1984. That is as far back as I know with the exception that there was a great grandma Jenny. Not sure if was on the Giardina side?

Torrey lineage is Fred Torrey and Voilet Theuret (Torrey)

This is my g.g. grandparent. He was born 1844 Melito Italy.
Married Francesca Gallo (born 1847 in Melito Italy) As far as I know they only had 2 children....Josephine and Frank.
Pasquale's parents were Vincenzo Giardina and Maria Teresa Martini or Gagliandi???
Josphine married Costantino Scaruffi. They had 9 children.
They lived in and around Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
Uncle Johnny and Pascal Scaruffi are buried in Donner, Louisiana.

Vincenzo Giardina was my great grandfather Salvatore's brother. They also had a sister named Concettina. Their parents were Francesco Giardina and Santa Providenza D'Alfonso. They came from Cefalu Sicily.

Vincenzo married Francesca Gigilo. They had five children: Frank, Santa Maria, Carlo, Domenico and Concettina.

What is your relation?

She married Costantino SCARUFFI. ( in Donaldville (Donnerson/ville?) LA.

According to my source:

1. Her mothers maiden name, as I am told, is GALLO.
2. She was born is Malito, Italy.
3. She came to US when she was 3 years old.

Any information would be of great help.

My grandmother's maiden name was Josephine Giardina. She was born in Donaldsonville, LA, however, and married a Mississippian. However, the family came from Malito, Calabria, and one of her grandmothers' family name was Gallo. I don't personally have all the info, but my mother does.

We may be related. I don't know much about my Fathers family. He is Tony (Antonio) Giardina. Married my mom Christina Benevento. I was born in Brooklyn . I believe my father had brothers Nick , Sam and Sister or sisterin law Vita?? and other sisters and brothers. My grand parents were Frenchesa and Antonio Giardina. Many of their grand kids were named after them ( I was as well as my sister Frances) I'll try to get you more information from my mom as she is still alive.My father passed away (he remarried) in upstate NY. I'm just getting started looking into my family history. Starting out I know that my great-great grandfather, Giuseppe Giardina, came to America from Taormina, then sent back for his wife and children, one of whom was Cosmo Giardina (my papa Sam), then my grandfather was Joseph and his son, my father, is also Joseph. Any info at all will be extremely helpful.

As far as I know my Rocco died on May 15.1931 I just stumbled across a piece of paper dated 1909 written in Italian I am going to try to translate it or have it done for me.

I have Giardina ties to the Louisiana area. My father was Ralph Giardina. His father was Vincent and his mother was Pauline. My father was born in Gretna. His siblings are: Mary, Rosalie, Bridget, Joseph, Jules, Madeline, Vincent, Veneda, and Sam.

My message was posted ages ago! Though i have never heard anything until your message... my mother's father is Vincenzo Giardina his wife was Giovanina(Jenny)Renauro...they had 13 children.He was born in Italy and she in New Jersey. I think they were married in St Rocco's in NJ. My mother does have alot of Aunts though all from her mother's side the Renauro's...most of whom are passed now.
They lived mostly in Brooklyn and earlier in the century lived in New Jersey.
We have very little information on the Giardina extended family...

My maiden name is Christina Giardina. My fathers name was Joseph Giardina. I know that he had 2 sisters (Angie and Mary) and a brother named Frank. His parents names were Margherita 9maiden name Pelligrino) and Santo.

From what I know everybody in my family has passed away and I am hoping that I find some roots.

I know that he was married before to a woman named Rose and she had 2 daughters. I know one of their names was Jeannie but I don't know the other daughters name.

I'm trying to find my father's family. His name was Ignacio Joseph Mandala. I've discovered through previous e-mails that his mother's maiden name was Rondone.

I believe the men (Mandala's and Rondone's) married into the Giardina family.

I'm really incredibly confused about the information I have on my father. Until his death, I believed his name to be Ignatious Joseph Mandala. Before he died, I received a birth registraiton that said he was born in Sacramento with the name Ignacio Joseph Mandala -- mother Anna Maria Rondone, and father Joseph Mandala. I also received information from Social Security that his name was Joseph Lew Moretti, his mother's name was Ann Sealor, and his father's name was Joseph Moretti, then that changed in the .early 60's to his name being Ignatious Joseph Mandala, his mother Anna Rondone, and his father Joseph Mandala. I know Rondone must be true because when I was very small, I met his aunt Rose Rondone. I know that MANDALA/RONDONE/GIARDINA cousins inter-married, and I believe that my father's first marriage was to his cousin (as was his parents and grandparents and so forth). I've heard rumors that he had two sons by that marraige. The only cousin Dad ever made mention of was his cousin Anne. She is/was somewhere in central California, a hairdresser, and Dad would visit with her in his travels as a sales rep for Quality Diesel in West Sacramento. My great uncle married Angela Giardina, sometime before 1913. They had 2 children. Rosaria and Mary. I believe Angela's mother's name was Rosaria and her father was Antonio. My great uncle came to the USA in 1913. His wife did not want to come with him and he had tried several times to get her to come. His name was Carmello Barbera. He made his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I understand they were from Piraino. I am trying to locate any family in Italy. My great uncle left a brother Pietro Barbera, a wife and children.
