These are my chgrandparents and live in Mandan, ND. His family moved here from Italy. His parents were Petro Giardini and Antonette, Evangelist they first lived in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Minnesota area

I replied to your post about 5 years ago and was wondering if you ever found anyone? My sister is Silvana Giardini and her father is Elio Giardini and resides in Roccarasso.

Hi Kevin,

Good to hear from a possible relative.

My grandfather Umberto was one of two brothers (Luigi was the eldest). His father was Guiseppe Giardini (died in Italy in 1895) - His father was Angelo, no additional information is known about the rest of the family.

What area of Italy does your Giardini ancesters origionate from? Mine come from Roccarasso in the Abruzzi.

I have an Umberto Giardini in my direct line.This one part of 4 brothers I know of, one which is my great grand father Ruggiero Giardini of Allegany, NY

My great grandfather and great- grandmother on my granmothers side were both from Roccaraso. His name was Ipolyte (Paul) Cucini, hers was Annina Stretsi. They had nine children, who went by Cugini, mostly living in New Castle, PA. I have relatives who live everywhere in between Warren, OH and Pittsburgh, PA - mainly New Castle, PA.

Giselda Bucci married Michael Frabotta, who had also married my great grandmother, Potensi Cariloni, the mother of my grandfather, Frank DuBois, Sr. We believe the name was originally Dibiasio and changed to DuBois during immigration. I know nothing of Giselda's family, though I know a fair amount about her husband.

Its a fair bet that Giselda and Gina are related. Let me know if you have any info.

Giardini's from Roccarasso (Abruzzi) Italy

My greatgrandparents were Guiseppe Giardini (1864-1895). He married Felicetta Cugini (1863-1910). Guiseppe died in Roccarasso in 1895. My geatgrandmother came to America with other Cugini's and her two sons.

Looking for any possible relations.

I don't know if this is the same family. My uncle Paul lives in Ohio, and my cousin Angelo lived in Massachusetts. No Bruno's that I know of.

My grandfather Umberto was born in Roccaraso (Abruzzi) Italy in 1893, he was the son of Guiseppe and Felicetta (Cugini) Giardini.

Thank you for the information, unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion in Ohio (I live in Massachusetts, and it's a bit long a trip +12 Hrs), but I will ask my Uncle who lives in Toledo to see if he would be interested in attending.

Hi all, I am new at this but I am looking for any Giardini ancesters from Abruzzi. My grandfather came to the states approx. 1918 or so at the age of 18 he settled in Pennsylvania. His father (name unknown) came to the states and settled in Pa. years earlier. As far as I know he had formed another family at that time. He worked for the railroad and was buried in Vanderbilt, Pa. If anyone has any information. please correspond.Iam sure I have cousins out there.

Sorry to inform you, biut my mom and step father divorced about 10 years ago, and he has since moved back to Italy(and we are not on speaking terms with him), however, he have a sister who lives in Youngstown ohio, I will try to get her info, he name now is gina bucci, and her husbands name is pete bucci.

Giardini's in Rocarraso

Stephan, my name is Licia, my grandmother is from Roccaraso, her maiden name was DiBattista, however, when my mother remarried in 1985 she married Elio Giardini who is from Rocarraso. He has a sister Gina(Giardini) Bucci who resides in Youngstown Ohio. My mom and step father(Elio Giardini) divorced in 1990, however, they have a child together, my sister Silvana Giardini. We live in Ellwood City, Pa which is right between Pittsburgh and Youngstown. Elio has many other siblings who live in Rocarraso, as well as himself. His mother's name is Cuincetta, and I am not sure what his fathers name was, but considering the size of Rocarraso, you are probably related to my sister. Every year in Ravenna, Ohio, there is a Rocarraso Reunion. It occurrs the 2nd sunday of August. I hope you can get in touch with me and possibly attend the reunion.

Michael, I do not know of a Tommy. The little information that I know is that the Giardini's in my husbands family are from the Chicago area. They have lived in and around the Chicago area since 1920's.(I believe) Just starting on this surname in my husband's family. Do you want to see how many Giardini's there are in Italy? Go to http://www.labo.net/ and type in the name giardini in the cognome or surname box. I haven't used it in awhile. Let me know if it works. Mary

He (Angelo) actually had a brother Tommy. Oddly enough he was just diagnosed with brain cancer Friday! I really don't know much about his family. He passed away before i was born. I have some trouble finding anything further back than him because I had never met him and I don't get to see my Grandmother very often. I have to get back to work.

All of the Giardini's lived in the Chicago area. That includes Paul, Bruno and Angelo. I believe they originated from Civitella Roveto, Abruzzi which is not far from Roccaraso. The Giardini's are on my husbands side of the family. I am just begining work on this side of the family. Mary Ann

I do know of an Angelo Giardini but he is now in his 80's. This appears to be a different Giardini. Perhaps this is a cousin or other distant relative. Do you know what part of Italy Angelo and his family were from? Do you know if Angelo had any brothers or sisters that came to America?Mary Ann
