Italy - NY - VA Giarrusso

Hi,
you found another cousin. Our part of the family is from Syracuse, N.Y. My dad, Louis, came here with his uncle in 1923, from Campabaso (this may not be the correct spelling) in Italy, when he was 8. Part of the family still spells the name "Giarrosso," which is what's on the family crest, which dates back to 15th century Spain. I have two brothers, Rich and Tom, who have five boys between them. My daughter Giullianna is the first one of our immediate family born outside of NY. We reside in Northern Virginia, just south of Washington, DC. Give us a holler, all you yankees!
Bob

Rhonda,
I just came across your post. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. My family comes from Lecce, Brindisi, and Matera, Italy. A few years ago, my Grandfather Harold Joseph Giarrusso met a cousin, living in upstate New York, who provided us with a family coat of arms.

It mentions a family, originally from Aragon (Spain) who went to Italy to guard the Pope, and served as Captains of the Royal Guard to King Alphonso, circa 1400.

I would like to correspond with you on the subject matter. And, coincidentally, I have an ex-wife who lives in Waterford, Texas.

Hoping to hear from you.
Charles

Americo; Marco & Theresa Cardente Giarrusso

I lost my father-in-law on April 1,2000. His name is Richard Giarrusso. His wife Marsha (my mother-in-law) is my best friend. I am joining her to make a family tree. She has lost the only thing that had any kind of information on his family. It was a letter someone had sent her years ago. This has hurt her deeply. That is why I'm looking to you. I need your help. His father was Americo Giarrusso. Americos parents were Marco Giarrusso and Theresa Cardente. Americo was one of 11 children. Marco and Theresa lived in Italy. If you have any information that might lead me to lost relatives of ours, please write me via e-mail at rhonda.giarrusso@nokia.com or you can write me to my home address: 147 North Longhorn, Weatherford, Texas 76085 USA. We are new at computers and don't really know where to begin. Help us! Hope to hear from anyone! Rhonda Giarrusso

Hi I was searching for Giarrusso history and stumbled onto this site. My name is Victor Giarrusso. I am second generation. My father and his family came to the US in the 50s. They lived in New England. I had the oppurtunity to visit our home town of Vieste many times. My father is in the military so we lived in Italy for awhile. Where is your family from. I heard the first recorded Giarrusso came to Italy from Spain to be a guard for the pope.
