My Afr-American gggg-grandmother was born in Florida around 1852, date of death uncertain. Her husband was Hamilton Polite, also Afr-American, born around 1848 in Florida, died about 1943. They lived mostly around Suwannee county and were married July 27, 1867. They had many children, including a son named Sam.

I know nothing about my grandmother's siblings (if any) or parents, but I was told there was an Emily Gibbs living next to my grandparents in 1900. Emily was born in March 1837. Emily's husband was John Gibbs, their children were Martha, Phebe, Clarasy, Lucy, Linda and Sarah.
