The family seems to have come from Ireland in the 1850's to Leicesteshire England. They lived in a small village called Copt Oak. They worked as servants and as farmers. The Christian names Philip and William seem to be regular family names. Barbera Gibbins who married Stanley Brooksby was a daughter of William, and sister to Malcolm Gibbins.
There was also a Joseph Gibbins who played the Accordian and went to America 1940-50.
