I am just starting to research my family. My father was William (Duke) Earl Gidley born in Wabash, Indiana and was originally married to my mother, Daine Lucille Turner, both born in Wabash, Indiana. My grandmother's name was Elizabeth (not sure if this is correct)and my Grandfather's name is Earl Gidley. I am not sure, but my family may have come from Alabama. I am trying to find out from which country my family originally immigrated. I was actually adopted and have had my name changed to Abbott. So, I would like to research my birth family origin before it is lost somehow.

William married Willmot REEVE 1 Jan 1795 In Spreyton, Devon but I'm unsure who his parents were or the exact date of his birth/christening. I believe William was born in 1767 in Spreyton, Devon but I can't confirm this.

My grandmother passed down a photo album from the 1800's, the photos are printed on tin, out of about 40 I can only identify Robert & Mary Gidley, Arthur Gidley, Charles & Bessie Gidley, Mary Ann Gidley and Gilbert Smith. Some photos were taken in Nebraska and some were taken in Michigan. I will share in order to find any info on these people. My great-grandmother was Mary Ann Gidley she married Christin Robertson. any info would be helpful, thanks

I am looking for some information on Mary Gidley who was born in Truro, Cornwall in abt 1817. She married George or William Ball (different names on different documents) in 1848 in Key, near Truro, Cornwall. They had 2 sons, William Nicholas Gidley (b. 1849, Cornwall) and Edwin (b. abt 1851, Cornwall). William NG Ball travelled to New Zealand and then settled in Australia.

Does anyone have an Alice/Alse Gidley in their database? Alice married Otis Tripp Little in Dartmouth, MA September 14, 1814. Otis was born September 01, 1789 so I am putting Alice in the same timeframe for her birth. I am looking for birth/death information for Alice but most of all, the names of her parents. Mrs. Nettie MORGAN of Lansing and Mrs. Alice CARTER of 433 Charles ave., this city. The body will be brought to Grand Rapids and lie in stats at the Metcalf chapel from 12:20 to 1:20 Tuesday.
