Francis J Gigante. Buffalo, Eire, New York

I have long been researching a Drynan family from Ayrshire, Scotland. After being widowed in Scotland in 1918 Alison (Alice) Lawrie or Drynan emigrated to Canada (where some of her own siblings had already settled) and some of her children settled in Vancouver area of British Columbia. (Connected Canadian families include Brown, Taylor and Norrish) One of her daughters was ALICE DRYNAN born Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland about 1888/1889. I have become aware of a similar named girl who may have married one Frederick Hickey and she may have died in Buffalo, New York about 1975. Further information suggests that a daughter of Alice may have married Francis (Frank) J Gigante who was born about 1925 and may have died in Buffalo about 1967. He may be the son of Frank J and Anna M Gigante. Can anyone help me in establishing and confirming any such links. Any help or further direction much appreciated.

I am interested in any information about the Sicilian side of my family. My father, Ronald J. Roberto's parents are Joseph and Josephine Roberto, his father Joseph's parent's Angela Gigante and Frank Gigante came over from Sicily in the late 1800's early 1900's I believe. I think his grandmother Angela may have been adopted. Please contact me with any info! I am trying to find any family that may still be in Sicily.

Dear Ed,
After much searching, I am not a direct line. You have the Actual birth record for Margherita Gigante born January 3, 1857 in Albero Bello ( Bari ) She is the daughter of Vito Gigante. She went back to Italy in 1935 (deported???)
I come from Salvatore's line 1786-1878. I believe Salvatore and Vito were siblings. Margherita is from Vito's line......
Thank you
Kathleen

Hello
By any chance do you still a copy of the 1857 record? If you do, is it possible for you to email it to me, or tell me what it said? I have a Margherita Gigante, Sibling of Francesco Gigante (dob 1861) his parents were Salvatore Gigante and and Martha Vaccaro. I do not know if my Margerita was a full sibling or half, because Martha Vaccaro was Salvatore's second wife. His first wife was someone with the last name Testa.
Regards
Kathleen Gigante

Your info matches mine a little to close, maybe there is a connection. Are you sure your not my brother-in-law? I did see where you said you were from Boston, If that is true then you are not the same guy. Anyways, Our Guiseppi (Joe) was born 9/20/1877 and married Pasqua (Esther) Fanelli. There children are Michael born 1902, Ross-Aronzo, Domonic born 1917, Anna, Mary, Giovanni (Johnny) and Esther. As I understand they were in Akron for awhile and then settled in Cleveland where they lived and died.

I have ancestors who came to New York in the early 1900's (approx 1914) from Conversano(Bari) Italy. Some of the names were Michael, Angelo, Anna, Maria, Oronzo and a few more I can't recall. They were all born in the first 10 years of 1900. They went from New York to Akron OH where their father (Guiseppe) was living. Not sure when he came over, not listed in Ellis Island records.
