Elsie Gilham of Baltimore, MD
Attached is a newspaper clipping from 1 April 1927 out of the Baltimore Sun. My grandfather, George William Myers, is credited with saving a little girl, Elsie Gilham, by donating a blood transfusion after the girl was bitten by a rat. I remember my grandmother retelling the story when I was a child. Evidentally, the doctors placed my grandfather on a higher table and ran a line directly from his arm to hers. A second line drained from the little girl. According to my grandmother, the girl's blood looked like dirty dishwater at first. This is the story I was told at least.
I would love to know what happened to Elsie Gilham of the Baltimore area. If anyone knows, please drop me an e-mail.
