I live outside of Detroit. My best friend of over 40 years has a mother (now deceased) who was a Gilkey from Kentucky. The Mother was born and raised in Kentucky. I don't know the city or county. She was born around 1928 and had a twin sister.
I always knew them as Christine and Madge. Both came to Detroit in the 40's, married, and raised their families here.
They had other siblings, one sister was called Bea. There were some brothers, I think one was called Fairy or Ferry and the other was Ester or Estel. Although most of the siblings relocated to the Detroit area, a couple of them remained in Kentucky, married, and raised their children. I'd like to get as much information as I can and then surprise my friend.
