Calvin was born abt 1810, son of Joseph Gilbert 1766-1851 and Sarah 1780-7/18/1850. Calvin was prob born Cambridge, NY. Family moved to Madison County, NY. Calvin said to have followed Californis Gold Rush, the settled in Michiagan, leavind decendants. Any help appreciated.

Thanks for your follow-up, but we seem to be from different timing for the Rebecca I am searching for. Also, I do not know how this became a GILLBERT (note spelling) surname list. And, all my information relates ONLY to Philadelphia and Norristown, PA. Neither Lancaster or out of PA fits.

Michigan he was born in 1875. He moved to Reed city, Mi and married Ada Samis May 26-1897, they had 5 children.

I have a 3 gr grandfather, Robert Gilbert and his wife Rebecca Unknown who lived in Lancaster, PA before 1785. They may have had a daughter, Rebecca Gilbert but I do not know. All I know is that they had a son, Robert, born in 1810 who married in 1844 to my 2 gr grandmother, Grace Stockwell who was born in Brattleboro, VT. The married in Blakes Prairie, WI and died in Patch Grove, WI.

My Great grandmother, Elinor Grace Gilbert was born 12/13/1846 in Patch Grove, WI, Grant Co., WI. Her parents were Robert S. Gilbert, born July 27, 1811 in Lancaster County, PA who married Grace Stockwell who was born in 1810 in Brattleboro, VT. They married Oct. 3, 1844 in Blakes Prairie, WI. Robert S. Gilbert's parents were Robert Gilbert and Rebecca Unknown who were born before 1785 and died in Lancaster County, PA. Grace Stockwell's parents were Asaph Stockwell born in Marlboro, Winham Co., VT in 1771 and Lucy Harris born October 19, 1774 in Chesterfield, N.H. They both died in Brattleboro, VT.

I am looking for any info about my Grandmother, B. 1885, Cornwall, England.
She came to Canada as a child, met my grandfather, Charles Emerson, in Canada. The
closest I can come to a city is Oshawa, Ontario, Canada. They married in Canada and emigrated to the US sometime before 1910.
They never became citizens, as my sister remembers they had to register every year.
Thye had 4 Children: Joseph Samuel Emerson,
Mary, Anne, and Winifred. Joseph was my father. Any information or clue to their parentage would be appreciated.

Gilberts in Alabama

My grandmother was Clifford Gilbert. She married Judson Nugent from Pinville LA. If you are a Gilbert in Alabama please let me know. My grandmother had a sister named Ruby that use to live near us in California. When she got older her family moved her (I believe) back to Alabama to be near her kids. I would love to find some family now that we live in the south.
