looking for williams Parents & any other information on the Gillespies KY & Va

I am researching the Greenbrier Co. VA Gillespie clan. One of the persons I am looking for is a Martha or "Patsy" Glaspy from Franklin Co. VA that was married to Jeremiah Glaspy, who we think is the father of William Hastings Gillespie b. 1842, my GGF. WHG's mother, in Greenbrier Co., was called Martha, but is listed as Patsy in an 1841 legal document.

Our Martha ? Patsy ? was born in Ireland abt 1820. We just found out last week that Jeremiah is a son of Evan Gillespie, and that clan has been in the US since about 1740. Jeremiah's family disappeared from the Franklin VA census, and the family resurfaced in WV about 1865 without him. So... we are trying to fill the gap.

We know that WHG had a brother Samuel and a sister, Sarah [Frantz], but have no other information at this time. So, are you aware of any other Martha "Patsy" name combinations in your Gillespie research? How about another Jerry or Jeremiah?

Can anyone give me any info on the Gillespie's? Im having a really hard time finding info on them. The Martha "Patsy" Hundley I have is the mother of Tyra S. Gillespie, But I really dont have any dates just alot of names. I guess they would be my GGG grandparents. So If anyone can give me any info please help.

I don't believe there is a connection, but names, dates and locations would help to isolate this a bit. Thanks.

Tyra is the daughter of William Abner Gillespie and Martha "Patsy" Hundley.She was born in 1826. I have more. I dont get on the query boards often, so best to e-mail me. Would love to trade info.

I am also researching the Gillespie family in Fluvanna, Louisa, and Albemarle Cos., VA thru John Gillespie b1745 louisa Co., VA dabt 1811 Fluvanna Co., VA md Mary Paisley, d/o of Robert Paisley and Mary Watson. I have not proven the parents for John yet - any clues? Betty Jo
