I am reseaching Andrew Gillies b.1797 & Ann MacEachen b.1800.
In the 1841 census the Gillies were living Back of Keppoch Ardnamurchan. One of their children was with Neil & Ann MacEachen & listed as a niece. Another of their children was in the home of John MacEachen - the Sheriff's Officer.
The Gillies had 7 children & migrated as a family to South Australia in 1852.
On board the same ship were John 58 (Sheriff's Officer) & Margaret 50 (nee MacDonald) MacEachen & family Margaret 13, James 9 & Ann 6 - most likely Ann's brother & sister in law. Another MacEachen family also named John 54 (a tailor) & Margaret 47 (nee MacLeod) with their children Mary 13, Johnanna 11 & Elizabeth 9 migrated at the same time. The single male & female MacEachens were Angus 20, Francis 15, John 22, Catherine 18 & Christian (Christina) 16 years old.
I would love to find Andrew & Ann's parents & their siblings.
