Looking for my Ancestors

My real name is Catherine Elizabeth Gillies but I known to all as Bessie. I was born in Bethesda, Cearnavonshire on October 24th 1926. My parents were Griffith Griffiths and Mary Catherine Thomas. I am not sure of the exact birthdates but I know my mother Mary Catherine was born on October 14th and supect the year was around 1890 (give or take a few years). My father I think was born in July and again I suspect around the year 1890 (give or take few years). I also had 2 brothers, Frank Brangwyn Griffiths and Huw Elgar Griffiths both younger than myself. I went on to marry a Samson Gillies who was born in Greenock, Refrewshire, Scotland on January 25th 1916. We married in Bangor, North Wales on the 15th January 1944. He was a soldier in the army and fought in WW2. He had a sister called Hannah Gillies who married a William Mclennon. Together, We had 4 children...Hannah, Frank, Elizabeth Christia (Tina) and Patricia. I am looking for anyone who knows of any of the names above and are possible relations.

I'm looking for information about Ann Gillies and her family. She was born in Applecross, about 1821. She married Duncan Mackay of Lochcarron about 1844 and lived with him in Lochcarron the rest of their lives. She died in Lochcarron before 1883.

The only OPR record I have been able to find is for an Annabel Gillies born 8 Sept 1821 the daughter of John Gillies and Anne Mackenzie - but I do not know if this is the person I am seeking.

Children of Duncan Mackay and Ann Gillies were John, Donald, Alexander, Kenneth, Duncan and Thomas all born in Lochcarron.

Does anyone have a connection with this Gillies family? They left Scotland for South Australia in 1852. There is a connection to the MACEACHERN family & they travelled out to S.A. together. In the 1841 census both families were living in the Arisaig & Moidart parish. (I have found nothing about the King family & wonder if it was Anna's maiden name.)
Andrew was born 1799, Anna 1800 - their children were Ann, Angus, Donald, Hugh, Mary, Christina & John. I have no information about Andrew or Anna's parents or siblings.

I am looking for relationships, burials etc. for my GGG grandfather John Gillies.

Accoring to the marriage certificate, John Gillies married 9 June 1856 in Falkirk.
He was a widower aged 65 years, a farmer whose usual residence was recorded as Dunipace. His parents were recorded on his marriage certificate as John Gillies, farmer, deceased, and Margaret Macfarlane deceased.
His bride, Janet Gray, was a 22 years old spinster & country servant. Her parents were both deceased at the time of marriage.

They subsequently had a son also called John Gillies on 28 September 1857 at Woodside, in the Parish of Denny, in the County of Stirling.

This son John married Jemima Tait on 6 June 1879 in Airth, by which time his father was dead. John subsequently died himself on 15th September 1913 also in Airth.

Any connections or further information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there, I'm hoping to find out more about Robert Gillies, he married Margaret Gardiner in Scotland, in 1848 he and his wife and four children: Robert, John, Mary and Margaret sailed to Otago, New zealand, Robert died in 1854. he is believed to be buried in the southern cemetery in Dunedin, apparently there is obelisk in the cemetery with his name inscribed on it, though I havent been to Dunedin before and cant confirm this. When they first came to Dunedin they settled in "little Paisley" now the site of the cemetery, any help gratefully accepted.

I think this is the same Annie Gillies who later married John Nicholson and gave birth to daughter Catherine Nicholson in Carbost. Anne Gillies' parents are given as John Gillies and Mary Lamond, married 1817 in Bracadale. If anyone can help me connections between these two Anne Gillies, I'd greatly appreciate it!

He married Christina Cameron of NS and their first child was born in 1841 in Port Hastings NS. I am interested in other GILLIES whose families came from Scotland to Cape Breton in 1820-40 time frame. I understand some Gillies left Isle of Skye and moved to Skye Glen in 1830. Does anyone have any information on these Gillies families(or any others who emigrated between 1820-40 )? John was a shoemaker by trade and was Presbyterian. Any information at all would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on Murdock Gillies, b ca 1863 in Moncton, N.B. Parents were John Gillies and Christina Cameron. Murdock moved to USA sometime after 1881. He was listed as Murray J. Gillis of California in his older sister Margaret's 1934 obituary. Another sister, MARTHA C. GILLIES is believed to have moved to USA (originally Mass.) as well. She married David W. Keirstead in Merrimac in 1885. Other siblings were John, Mary Ann, Isaac, Isabelle, and Annie.
I have information on John, Margaret and Mary Ann but would like to know about the other members of the family. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am descended from an Archibald Gillies who settled in Dalhousie West, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia circa 1820 with sons John and Daniel and third child according to records. To my knowledge, any Gilli(e)s with connections to southwestern Nova Scotia would be related. This community (DW) is located about 20 miles from Annapolis Royal.

I have information on many of his descendants and I would be interested in hearing from anyone who feels they may be related. This Archibald is not related to the Gilli(e)s famlies from either Cape Breton or northern Nova Scotia!

According to oral history he originally came from Argyll and was granted land based upon his ervice in the British Army during the Napoleonic conflicts.
