d. 6 Sep 1833 Cabarrus Co., NC
married 26 Aug 1783 at home of Mary YOUNG in Lancaster Dst., SC:
Jane YOUNG b. 1 Aug 1757 Ireland
d. 15 Oct 1855 Cabarrus Co., NC
John and Jane (YOUNG) GILLON are buried at the Coddle Creek ARP Church in Cabarrus Co., NC. Their children included these:
Rebecca GILLON d. after 1845
m. 1st James RODGERS who died 1828 and is bur. at Tirzah Church near Waxhaw, NC. Their children: Martha and Joseph RODGERS
m. 2nd Claiborne CHAMPION

John GILLON was a Revolutionary Soldier--enlisted from Lancaster Dist., SC 1780. Private under Capt. John REED and Col. William DAVIS, NC. Pensioned in Waxhaw Dist, NC.
DAR "Rolls of Honor" says he was born 1752 Union Co., died 1832 Cabarrus Co., NC. Received a pension as private in NC troops under Col. William R. DAVIE.
Jane's pension application says they were married 26 Aug 1783 in the home of Mary YOUNG (Jane's mother?) in Lancaster Dist., SC.
Sallie (GILLON) and Matthew RODGERS were my ancestors. My line from their son:
