Glace Family in Berks County, PA

I am a descendant of Mary Sophia Glace (1812-1850) who married Philip Frank. They lived in Buffalo Township, Perry County, Pennsylvania. I believe Mary is from Berks County, PA (there are several Glace families on several census records, beginning in 1800). However, I have been unable to connect her to any of them. Does anyone know from where or from what family she hails? Many thanks, in advance.

Hi, my grandfather, Frank Elmore Glace, was born Feb 26, 1887 in Port Royal, Pa. I know his family went back to the Rice, Hench and Groninger families. I believe his father was Frederick [b. 1860, d. 1898] and his mother was Anna E. Glace [b. 1865, d. 1926]. I am trying to locate more information and will get back to you as soon as I can find the information. I need to go through my father's files etc. I believe that the Glace name may actually be of Scotch origin, at least some old letters I've found indicate that. Many of these families are buried in the Old Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal Lutheran Church. I have a complete listing of burials there if that is any help to you.
Beth

Samuel Glace would have been my Great Uncle--his brother George was my Great, grandfather. My father was the only son of George W. Glace II, his name was George W. (William) Glace III. I am an only child (the buck stops here). My birth name is Georgianna Glace although I have changed my name to Nivedita Glace. Sorry I don't know more but would like to know if you find out anything more. Nivedita

My great, great, grandmother's name was Elizabeth Michaels. She was married to Abel Glace who died in 1816. He is buried in St. Pauls Cemetary, Juanita County, PA. According to my records she later married William Kane. Elizabeth and Abel had the following children: Rebecca, Sarah, John, Samuel and George (my great, grandfather). Maybe this will help.
Hi--I stumbled upon this board and am glad that I did--Abel Glace was my Great, great grandfather. His son George was my great, grandfather (George William Glace I), my grandfather was George W. Glace II, and my dad was George W. Glace III. My father (when he was alive) and I found the cemetary and gravestone of Abel Glace and Elizabeth Michaels in PA. We went looking for it one year and couldn't find the tombstone, then the next year we went back and found it. I couldn't go back any further so if you find out anything please share. My birth name is "Georgianna" Glace but I have changed my name to Nivedita Glace.

I'm looking for info on Elizabeth Glace who was from the Hazleton area of Luzerne Co., PA. She was born around 1864 and died sometime after 1920. I also know that she was Roman Catholic and her parents were born in PA. Around 1882 she married a Wm. Charles Paisley. Her mother came to live with her sometime after her father died and I think the mother's name was Angeline/Angelive. Any info would be appreciated.

Searching for information on Sarah Rebecca GLACE, b. 31 Jan 1869 in Juniata Co, PA. Looking for her mother's name, additional marriages if any, and if she had any children? Sarah R. married James NAYLOR (my GG-grandfather) on 13 Feb 1898 in Cocolamus, Monroe Twp, Juniata Co, PA. Sarah was James' 3rd wife. As far as I know they had no issue. She died on 24 Mar 1946 in Philadelphia, PA. She is buried in Westminster Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, PA in the HELM family plot (lot 382). Her father is Samuel GLACE. I have no evidence she was married before she married James Naylor but I found a marriage application(#1434) dated 27 Jan 1895 for Sarah and a W.H. SEIBER but no evidence they ever married. Any additional information would be appreciated.

I am looking for information on John Glace, born 1855. He left Port Royal, PA in 1905 and settled in Antler, ND where he died in 1945. He married Margaret Kilmer and they had several children. One of them Victor A. Glace, (my great grandfather) who married Clara Aasboe, also spelled Ausboe; Edward born around 1891 and Mina E. Glace born 1895 married George Bowlby 1910, died 1946. I am interested in any information on the Glace family, I can find very little. I am unable to trace the Glace's back beyond John. Any information would be appreciated. Please respond to Paul Knaus at houseofknaus@hotmail.com Thanks. Posted 1/16/2004

I have been told my a cousin that my great great grandfather is John Glace. I have very little information about that. I belive John married a Margarette Gilmore but I've also seen her name spelled Margaret Kelmore? Can verify either. My John Glace had three children, Victor Alan, Edward and Mina Easter. Does any of this sound familiar. I am a decendent of Victor Alan.
