He had Six children four with his first wife Mary(Pettit) John, Oran,Robert and Marlene.
Have family information

Back in 1985 I wrote to a Doris Vogal Glade who is a Genealogist, from Holcomb, Il. She was very old and probably no longer living. Jacob Daniel Glade was my Husbands Jerry D father. Oran was Jacobs Brother. Jacob or Jake as he was called, married Mary Pettitt in 1930. Looks like they had 4 children. John Daniel, Oran Dan, Robert Dale (in Olatha, Ks, and Marlene Joan. Oran had been married twice. I know Robert has been married at least twice. But lets get back to Jacob. Jake married Florence Dant in 1938. They had 2 children, Jerry (my husband) and Janice Glade who married a Gold and is living in Tx. We live in Bellevue, Nebraska. I have more info if you would like to email me. My mother-in-law is 91, and still alive. So John Glade would have been a Grandfather and Michael Glade a Great Grandfather. John married Elvira Eunice Ball in 4/2/1891. I would like to meet some of the Glades. Jake was always considered the black sheep of the family and a lot of contact was lost. Many of these Glades either settled in Mt. Aire,Ia which is a small town, or in Portland, Oragon. These Glades are a distant realative of Captain John Cook who discovered the Hawaian Island for a Earl in England.

My father is Oran Dean Glade of Coggon Iowa and his Brother is Robert Dale. My Grand Father was Jake Glade and my Grandmother (still living) is Mary Petit. I have 5 brothers that are living and one brother that is deceased. My Mother, Beverly J Glade (Duncan) passed away in 1997. There indeed many of us, Uncle Bob has 8 children and my father has 6. I am my father's only daughter. Delray Denise Glade and I live in Gillette wyoming. My father has often said that he has a half brother somewhere in Nebraska but wasn't sure where? I have been very curious about where my father's family came from and he gives little information so it is nice to meet someone with some information. Email me at delrayglade@yahoo.com

You are correct. John and Michael are the one and the same you can find him listed with both names John Michael I believe was his given name. And yes he was married to Christena. And yes John Jr was married to Elvira. Jake was my grand father and Oran (Dean) is my father. I am still curious to know if and where in Germany they came from. if you have that information I would be grateful. delrayglade@Yahoo.com

The GLOEDE is in my ancestry. My great-great-grandmother, Maria GLOEDE, was born near Heiddorf, Mecklenburg-Schwerin in 1835. I believe she had a brother John. They came to America in the early 1850s and settled in Carbon County, PA. After John's death, his widow Americanized the name to GLADE/GLADEY/GLADY. Sound familiar?

Lisa---This is very spooky!!! When my John GLOEDE filed his Declaration of Intent papers in 1862 it was done thru Rensselaer County, NY and he renounced his allegiance to "Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland." When he did his naturalization papers it was done in Carbon County, PA and he renounced his allegiance to "the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin." I have wondered if he first went to Canada before coming to America. Now you tell me you and your ancestors are in Ontario..... Please email me directly at DebraLee2@aol.com so we can talk more in-depth. Debbie
