My maiden name is Pellarin. My grandfather, John Pellarin was from Sequals. He immigrated to St. Louis in 1906. He had a brother who lived in England, married a girl from England and eventually moved to St. Louis. There were stories that there were others from his family who came to the U.S. but my dad never found anyone. I was told that a brother starved to death in Italy during a war.
The name is very common in the Udine area. The plaza is even named Pellarin.
I have seen a picture of the town but it is not in my possesion. Joan

I don't have any answers either. My great great great grandfather was Charles Gladue. He had a daughter named Isabelle. She had a daughter named Veronique. Veronique had a daughter marie blanche they called Pearl. Pearl was my grandmother. Veronique married Charles Campbell and had my grandmother. Charles Campbell was married to Isabelle Delorme. Isabelle Delorme's mom was Isabelle Gourneau. Isabelle Gladue married Raphael Ritchot. This is all I know. I am sorry i couldn't been more helpful. Hope you find answers if you do let me know. if i do, i will let you know.

I am now searching for my family on my dad's side. He was born in Walhalla, North Dakota. His parents were Marie Blanche (Pearl) Campbell and Charles Dumas. Marie Blanche (Pearl) Campbell parents were Charles Campbell and Marie Veronique Ritchot. Marie Veronique Ritchot's parents were Raphael Ritchot and Isabelle Gladu. Charles Campbell parents were James Campbell and Isabelle Delorme. My dad's mother died when he was very young and was sent to live with his aunt in Canada, Amanda Ritchot (Aunt Maude). If anybody has any information about the family, I would appreciate it.

I found this in a 1901 Census....According To My mom Gabriel's Dads Name Was MOISE GLADUE. Gabriel Had A Daughter my grandmother in 1933 name SARAH GLADU In Caslan Alberta. My mom doesn't recall Gabriels Brothers n sisters names...So hopefully this is his family...someone let me know if they have the same info!!

My great great grandfather was John Papaschase Quinn dit Gladue,I am also researching this line.John's son Johnny married Maria belcher in 1901 Hobbema Alberta,and I can not find any more info on Her or her Family line.They are in the 1901 census:

Too follow up on Lisette Gladu and her parents Francois Gladu (DOB: 12.25.1763) and his wife Josephette Chartrand (Approx. 1770) Francois parents are Andre Gladu and Marie Josephte Lemaitre. Marie's parents are Michel Lemaitre (I have more info on his family to search)and Marie Charlotte Trottier's parents are Pierre Trottier and Marie-Jean Mercereau. Andre's Parents are Pierre Gladu and Marie Madeline Brouillet dit Laviguer. Pierre parents are Nicolas Gladu and Louise Cosmouet. All from Quebec. Now on Josephette Chartrand's side, her parents are Charles Chartrand (approx. 1777) and Marie Madeline Jubinville (DOB: 02.28.1749) and Marie's parents are Jean Baptiste Jubinville (DOB: 05.26.1710) and his wife is Marie Angelique Quenneville (DOB: 05.13.1706). Jean Baptiste Jubinville parents are Michel Jubinville and Marguerite Barbeau. Marie Angelique Quenneville's parents are Jean Quenneville and Marie Hanecoeur. Jean Quenneville's parents are Pierre Quenneville and Jeanne Sequespee and Marie possible could be Marie Denise and her parents are Pierre Denise and Jeanne Loret and they all originated from France. Amazing and I am still searching for information on John Gladu Quinn's paternal side.

Im hoping someone may know Bertha (nee Gladue) Gafford. Bertha is my long lost cousin-- our Gladue side seems to have lost contact with her, her mother, and siblings after Henrie(her father) passed away. She was born in 1924 in Norwich Connecticut to parents= Henrie Gladue and Bertha Wojtkiewicz . Her father Henrie died in 1926 Norwich Ct and her mother Bertha died in 1972 in Norwich,Ct. She had a sister named Stella who was born about 1925 and possibly had a brother named Bernard who would have been born around 1922. I believe Bertha married a man named Frank Gafford and they possibly still live in the Norwich area or surrounding community. If anyone can be of help please contact me at Forpsyt@aol.com.

Hi Jane,

I know a genealogist whom has researched the Gladu lines. He helped me get back to France in the 1400's. I am not prepared to put his name online but I would send it to your private e-mail.

Additionally, my line of Gladu were mixed blood, descended from Iroquois. Howerver, most identified themselves as Metis. They had their own language (Michif) and were actively involved in the fur trade in western Canada and USA.

In my travels, I see family photos lost in antique stores.
I feel obligated to try and return them to their rightful families. All of the photos I buy have names and dates or places on them. My most recent find was:

Gladue or Gladu Family album from Illinois

This large gold and red album features a catholic family
from Manteno and Bourbonnais, Kankakee County, Illinois.
Photos were taken in Escanaba, Michigan, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Concordia, Kansas and Chicago and Kankakee, Illinois.
Esmail X. Gladu or Gladue appears to be the father.
There are several photos of Andie Gladu.
from St. George, Illinois.
Two of the photos from friends.
They are Delia or Julia Lonone from Kankakee, Illinois
and Louise Lambert

Hi, rita not sure how to address this either, anyways I was told that my mother has passed away don't know for sure. I have to TRY and get info from my dad who is over 70 and is slow in replying. How could you get any thing from social services, I can't.
I tried but maybe because I'am in Canada.

My mothers name is eva gladu. I can't even clarify her name or her roots. Strange. I'am part indian maybe cree and french don't know for sure. Born in Peaceriver,alberta b.c. canada.Been through vital statistics in Alberta. To many gladu's in the north no luck . Any suggestions out there? Birthplace of mother was Normandeau,Alberta, Canada. Her father was Cyriac Gladue I know he was born in 1859 in St. Bart., Que and was in NY later but don't know any of his siblings or where he died. do the names darry, oscar, vina, perhaps elvina? sound familiar. i know my dads (darry) mother lived in quebec about 1950-55. darry, oscar, and vina wer siblings. we also had relatives in i think rhose island and lawrence mass. i have lots of old gladue photos i cant identify.
